Investigator, Welcome to the Detective Conan-Themed Campaign

[Exams are over! I'll be back after working on the detailed outline and polishing the story over the New Year!] I, Nishitani Yuu, am a fan of late-night tabletop roleplaying sessions. As a legendary investigator, I'm proficient in basic skills such as handcrafting explosives, picking locks with a wire, disguising myself with nothing but my bare hands, driving like a maniac on foot, reading people, and hypnotizing them. Okay, kidding. Let's get serious. I, Nishitani Yuu, a graduate student at the University of Tokyo, woke up as the card that had been torn up after the late-night group's final fumble sent me into permanent madness. I teleported from Kanagawa to Tokyo, the world had jumped back twenty years, and I was due to report to the police academy tomorrow. "KP, does this really make sense?" "Hello, investigator. You are currently in the prelude scenario [ Un known ] for the [ Bright Light ] module. Please take action and complete the investigation." "I want to quit." "Please take action and complete the investigation." "Can I quit once the investigation is complete?" "Please complete the investigation." "..." Only later did Nishitani Yuu learn that every title had a meaning. And when the module truly began, the indescribable things lurking in the shadows began to surface, one by one. Spot Hidden: [You know these secrets?] For a hundred years, no one has ever questioned this. They all pinned their guesses about the truth on various experiments. Only you know this is an unequal bargain. Psychology: [Why don't you believe me?] There are no lies. Everything is true. From the bottom of my heart, I believe you're the best creation. Just a little more time. Disguise: [Want to become someone who's already dead?] I saw it with my own eyes. I buried his body. ...No, he isn't dead. Who are you, really? "Even if everything is fated, I'll save you from a fumble, no matter what." "Those unknown and indescribable things..." "That is my duty, as an investigator." 1. Nishitani Yuu is an ordinary investigator, not a troublemaker at all. He just believes in the law of conservation of luck. 2. The System doesn't play much of a role; it's just the introduction to the modules. You can think of it as a kind of KP, which is why Nishitani Yuu always calls the System KP. 3. It won't actively issue missions. Modules begin when an incident occurs, and the investigation must be completed. These are all solo sessions; other characters aren't players. 4. Nishitani's luck is equal to the author's luck, so everything depends on the dice gods. (Palms together.) 5. This is my take on the Lovecraftian genre, not the traditional kind, and it also contains a lot of tabletop roleplaying elements. Under the house rules, rolls of 1 to 5 are all critical successes (otherwise his life really would be full of hardship). 6. [No pairings, no secret identities.] The cool dark-skinned guy Nishitani just wants to finish every investigation and save his police academy classmates with emergency first-aid punches along the way. 7. The blurb is silly, but the story is serious. The tabletop module plots are all original. 8. I changed the title. It used to be called "Is Playing a Tabletop RPG in the Detective Conan World Contrary to the Lovecraftian Mythos?" A friend said that even people who didn't know tabletop RPGs could follow it just fine, but the title might put them off. (Palms together.) 9. The tag is "Welcome to the Detective Conan-Style Module" (because commas aren't allowed...) 10. The cover is by the artist Narcissus, ID: chen1142. Theme: Hiding something doesn't change its existence, even if it's buried six feet deep and no one knows about it.
