After My Forum Rants Came True

[The story is complete! Please support the official version! (Very loudly)] [Check out my upcoming novel, The Mechanic Who Became an NPC in a Cyberpunk Game, a secret identity story.] *See the end of the blurb for content warnings.* [The main plot starts from the start!! The Whiskey Trio's truly mortifying moments are shown through flashbacks!] Chikawana is one of the distillery's two exceptionally capable true members, working diligently and tirelessly. He's such a model worker that even Gin gives him a wide berth. Recently, though, a tiny icon appeared on his phone, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't delete it. It contained all kinds of posts on every topic under the sun. Every so often, a bizarre quiz or news post would go viral, and the scariest part was... everything in them came true in real life. And the effects lasted for an unpredictable amount of time. [If the last thing you eat is the flavor of your pheromones] Chikawana glanced at the chocolate he'd just bitten into. The next second, a rich chocolate scent filled the entire Porsche. Gin turned around from the passenger seat, puzzled. [Find out what your Animagus is] Green scales covered half his face. His eyes in the mirror had already become those of a snake, and Chikawana silently put down his toothbrush. Rye found that all his clothes had vanished from his wardrobe and were piled up in a small mountain in the corner. Was this some new way to bully him? [ABO gender quiz: Which of the six ABO genders are you?] No, wait! What is ABO?! Chikawana's breath caught as something cold, like a collar, appeared around his neck out of nowhere. [Urban legend: The villa] Could we make a deal and just skip this one...? Bourbon saw the person in front of him suddenly stop and stare straight down the dim hallway. [A curious tale: An unexpected kiss between mafia members is a death warning that someone is about to kill you] Haha, good thing I'm not a member of the black hand... Aah! This thing doesn't even spare hitmen?! On the rooftop, the blue-eyed man was backed into a corner, and Chikawana couldn't stop himself from moving closer. Chikawana relied on his outstanding acting and nimble footwork to scrape through one sudden crisis after another. Then one day, a post quietly appeared and shot to the top of the hot list overnight. [Can someone explain who Chikawana is? I just got back from browsing CP223, and there are way too many doujinshi about him!] Chikawana: ...? It seemed like they were talking about something entirely new. +++, +++ Check out my upcoming novel, The Mechanic Who Became an NPC in a Cyberpunk Game. Blurb: Closed beta player Fu Tu finds himself inside the game Remnants of the Old City, as an NPC in the starting zone. In the cyberpunk game Remnants of the Old City, players take on the role of a half-mechanical being abandoned in the outer district of a ruined city. They journey toward the central city, together uncovering the secrets hidden there. The outer district where Fu Tu is stationed is a desolate ghost town, harsh and strewn with scrap. It had been forgotten by players ever since the closed beta. Mechanical designer Fu Tu gazes at the desolate outer city, the materials scattered everywhere, and his enormous mechanical workshop, his eyes shining. No need to socialize or go outside. He can spend every day at home designing machines with cutting-edge equipment, and he can control mechanical bodies to run errands, shop, and take care of business... What a deal! The full-dive game Remnants of the Old City launches on every platform, and players around the world pour in, only to be slaughtered without mercy. Those in power collude with the conglomerates, while the aristocracy and its factions monopolize the social order. Half-mechanical beings struggle to survive in the lower city, battered by acid rain and pollution, held back by disease and poverty. Three days after launch, a post lamenting how brutally realistic the game was, and how inhuman the developers were, had amassed tens of thousands of replies on the game forum. Then, as players explored, they discovered a mysterious NPC who appeared in every quest chapter: A repairman with metal plates covering his eyes appears at the thirteenth passageway on rainy days. He charges only one blackwater flower, a plant that grows everywhere in the inner city. His body beneath his clothes is in ruins, and he has pried off his precious outer shell with his own hands to make medicine. The taciturn mercenary who uses his own body as a weapon ensures that no mutants will bother anyone who stays by his side. He ignites his own mechanical heart to become a beacon tower, drawing away the black insects that breed in the polluted water by the thousands. The hacker confined to a wheelchair is arrogant and sharp-tongued. Anyone who needs his help has to beg again and again with sweets. He connects his sophisticated brain to the tower's control system, breaks through its programming, and opens the only path for players to reach the central city. A cleric, a gunsmith, an artist... Before the final chapter of victory arrives, they are companions the players can trust without question, the last glimmers of hope in the apocalypse, breaking through the prison of the old world with their own bodies in every chapter. On the day the final battle ends, a gameplay video shoots to the top of the trending list and stays there for days: [The underground of the newbie-zone outer city hides a whole new world! The little-known underground map, the fate of all the mechanical heroes, Fu Tu's true identity? So this is what Remnants of the Old City is really about!] Beneath the desolate soil of the newbie-zone outer city stretches a rugged cavern of jagged rocks. A colossal statue, half-covered in machinery, crashes to the ground. Its eyes are calm, and the broken plaster on its cheek looks like tears. The characters who fought alongside the players sleep around the statue. Beneath their ruined limbs, disconnected wires spark and metal glints. The familiar figure often seen in the newbie zone removes his heavy gas mask for the first time. A mole beneath his eye stands out against his pale skin. Fu Tu sits atop the statue, carefully installing throbbing mechanical organs into the ruined body before him. He remains stationed forever in the heavily polluted outer city, helping millions of players and showing them the way out. He has always been the savior who gives life to his mechanical companions, the silent dawn leading players toward a new world. #Fu Tu, diligently working on design projects and construction in the underground: ?# #At first, I really just wanted to do my design assignment (tucks hands away)# [The blurb was first written on 2022.3.7] Warnings: 1. The main plot begins from the start; the earlier story is told through flashbacks. 2. This novel = a serious main plot + lighthearted misunderstandings and speculation + lots of wild forum comments + a few familiar heartbreaks + absolutely no character deaths (don't worry!!). 3. The romantic entanglement is between Akai and Gin (I'm a country bumpkin, I love writing this), but there are no pairings in the actual story. 3. The first 33 chapters are the revised versions. If something doesn't line up as you read, check whether the chapter title has a [Revised] tag. The main story hasn't changed; the revisions just add detail and develop the characters. 4. The male lead is a money-powered jj-brand liquor (emphasis on this; see the author's note in Chapter One for details). If this doesn't suit you, it probably isn't the right story for you, so run! (shouting) Don't make things hard on yourself. The most important thing is to enjoy reading, mwah! Please don't mention other stories under this one, and don't mention this story under other stories. I'll delete comments that do! (A sharp look.) Theme: Change your fate through your own efforts.
