Transmigrated into the Palace Cat Caretaker

Fang Tishuang is sent into the palace to become an eunuch by his aunt. Curious, he sneaks a peek at the castration process, faints from fright, and collapses. Then a fat cat drops from the sky and stomps on his chest. Young Fang Tishuang dies on the spot. When he wakes up, he discovers he's become a cat: the very same one that sent him to the afterlife with a single paw. Life as a cat isn't bad. The palace provides him with plenty of good food and drink, and as the late emperor's beloved pet, he spends his days lazing around, basking in the sun and licking his paws. No one dares accuse him of being lazy and not catching mice. Even the young eunuchs and maids call him "Master Cat." Until one day, the cat steward gets drunk after sneaking some vintage wine from the cellar. He staggers along the roof, slips, and falls right into the arms of the new emperor, who's rumored to hate cats. Fang Tishuang is so frightened that the fur on his head stands up like a sea urchin. Thinking quickly, he barks at the cold-faced young emperor: "Woof!" (He tries to pass himself off as a dog.) In the end, he still gets docked a month's worth of dried-fish wages, but at least he keeps his cat head. What's more, the new emperor who hates cats takes a liking to him, promoting him to the position of imperial cat who serves at the emperor's side. But later... his workplace inexplicably shifts from the emperor's desk to the dragon bed. Fang Tishuang only realizes afterward that his job has gotten much harder. So why hasn't the emperor given him a raise? Also, who said the emperor hated cats most of all? * The new emperor, Pei Ye, has a strange problem: he often can't sleep at night. Even burning calming incense like firewood doesn't help. Then one night, he meets a young eunuch. At first, a few words with him are enough to give the emperor a good night's sleep. Later, he can only sleep if the eunuch keeps watch by his side. And later still... keeping watch and holding hands aren't quite enough, so they end up sharing a bed. Pei Ye has always been suspicious of this young eunuch, who doesn't appear in any records of the harem. But one day, on his day off, the emperor sleeps in for once, only to discover that the young eunuch in his arms has suddenly turned into a big white cat. One man and one cat stare at each other, eyes wide. One is stunned, while the other nervously tries to figure out how to explain in meows to a human that he's really not an evil demon. After that, the young emperor, who claims not to like cats, becomes so accustomed to having cat hair on his clothes and in his hair that his attendants find it strange when he doesn't. Note: 1. Cat bottom and emperor top. The little cat occasionally transforms into a human. 2. Sweet story, no angst. Theme: Kindness and courage.
