[The whole story is undergoing a major revision. I'll replace it once I'm done. Please forgive the poor reading experience in the meantime.]
To win Bian Hang's heart, Jiang Tang hired a film crew to help him pretend to be poor.
And so, he transformed into a pitiful college student from a fallen family, with a gambler father who got drunk every day.
The first thing his gambling father did when he saw Bian Hang was try to sell his only son to him for a mere eight thousand yuan. But Bian Hang refused without a second thought.
Seeing Jiang Tang standing to the side with a long face, Bian Hang said, "You look disappointed."
Jiang Tang put on a pitiful expression. "I just can't believe my dad would sell me for only eight thousand yuan. Boo hoo..."
But in his heart, he thought: Damn, eight thousand is practically giving me away for free, and you still won't take me!
Recently, Bian Hang had become enamored with someone. This person had once been the pampered young master of the Jiang family. After the family fell on hard times, he had shouldered the burden of keeping their precarious household afloat with his young, fragile shoulders.
He had only two shirts, both washed until they were faded. He often worked part-time until late at night before returning to his dorm. He washed cars at a car wash, worked as a cashier at a supermarket, and even drank himself into a stupor while keeping customers company at a nightclub.
Bian Hang was drawn to him before he knew it. Then one day, he heard the penniless Jiang Tang, who couldn't even afford food, haggling with someone: "Four hundred ninety-nine? That's so cheap. Why not round it up to five hundred?"
Bian Hang: ...
Then he discovered that Jiang Tang actually had a walk-in closet like a fashion boutique. His so-called late-night shifts were really just nights out drinking and singing karaoke with friends, when he lost track of time.
That part-time car-washing job? He had driven his own Porsche to the car wash and happened to run into Bian Hang, so he improvised a scene. And the supermarket... that was his family's business. As for drinking with people at a nightclub, he could usually drink an entire room under the table, but the day Bian Hang ran into him, he passed out in Bian Hang's arms after just one drink.
Without any fuss, Bian Hang carried the pretending-to-be-drunk Jiang Tang home. Aloud, he asked, "Want some water?"
But in his heart, he thought: Go on, keep acting.
Note:
1. Silly beauty, hot guy who insists on wearing his neckline open to his navel, foolish, rich, and spoiled bottom x somewhat aloof, very proper top.
2. A brainless, sugary sweet story. Read with caution if that's not your thing.
Theme: Treat others with sincerity
It's so funny. I really like this kind of setting.
