Who Says the White Moonlight Has to Be a Person?

[Check out my ongoing story: “Little Zombie Wants World Peace Too”] Ming Qi, a minor actor, shot to fame after pouncing on Yu Qinzhou, a big shot in the business world, at the airport. That very day, his rival’s team stirred up trouble and sent Ming Qi trending. He got the most attention he’d ever received since entering the industry, though it was all mockery. That night, Ming Qi sat cross-legged on the bed in a black silk shirt one size too big, looking down at the top-liked comment: [Yu Qinzhou: the man the entertainment industry’s demons and monsters try to use for clout every day, yet can never have.] At the sound of the door unlocking, Ming Qi turned his head. Yu Qinzhou, the man no one could have, stepped forward and took the phone from his hand. His long fingers brushed over the shirt that should have been his, then slipped through the collar as his eyes darkened. “Going to sleep?” … Ming Qi was found by Yu Qinzhou on a snowy day. Like a poor little puppy, he followed a sliver of warmth home with Yu Qinzhou, then accepted the marriage contract Yu Qinzhou offered him. Yu Qinzhou was a patient hunter. He knew that Ming Qi had had a first love since high school, so he waited quietly for years. Then, one day, at the anniversary celebration of Jing City No. 1 High School, he heard a friend ask Ming Qi to go see his first love. Stars seemed to shimmer in Ming Qi’s eyes, but malice blazed across Yu Qinzhou’s heart. Keeping his expression neutral, he asked, “Can I come too?” Ming Qi agreed without hesitation. “Of course.” Two minutes later, Yu Qinzhou was standing outside a shop called “First Love Jianbing Guozi,” watching Ming Qi buy two combo pancakes. Yu Qinzhou: “…Damn.” #Who says your first love has to be a person# #What if it’s the jianbing guozi outside your school gate# ※Reading Guide※ 1. This is my take on the entertainment industry. Prepublication title: “Little Zombie Wants World Peace Too” Rong Jing is a zombie missing one little fang. Luckily, he met a kind young man who took him home and brought him to a dentist to get an expensive tooth fitted. Every now and then, Rong Jing would bite the young man’s shoulder to show how good the tooth was. Then an accident happened, and he fell into a coma. He woke up again when four little brats, digging a hole to roast sweet potatoes, accidentally dug into the wrong grave and roused him. Rong Jing pushed open the coffin and looked around in confusion. The penniless little zombie clutched his only possession, a tortoiseshell, and decided to look for the kind young man he’d met years ago and mooch a couple more meals off him. A few days later, he frowned suspiciously at the handsome, imposing man before him. “Are you really him? You’re not trying to scam me, are you?” Xie Changshi: “That tooth of yours cost me every last penny I had, thirteen thousand yuan. You still thought it looked ugly, and cried until you got one made of gold.” Rong Jing covered his mouth. Enough, enough. I believe you, okay? … Xie Changshi was born into the wealthy Xie family of Kyoto, but he was a little wretch. Ghosts and monsters plagued him from childhood, and people picked on him too. When he was sixteen, just as the thugs his cousins had hired were beating him half to death, he awakened a System. The System told him that he was the villain in a danmei novel. If he followed its orders, he could meet the protagonist bottom early, win his affection, and reach the pinnacle of life. Xie Changshi gave a cold laugh. With the protagonist bottom passed out nearby and a little zombie beside him crying hysterically over a lost tooth, he didn’t hesitate to run off with the zombie. To Xie Changshi’s surprise, the little zombie wasn’t good for much else, but he was great at fighting, whether he was beating up ghosts or people. But after just a year together, the little zombie fell into a coma after an accident. Xie Changshi found the Daoist priest who had raised the little zombie and followed his advice. He had a coffin made for him and buried him deep underground. Twelve years later, the little zombie named Rong Jing came back to find him. … Before meeting Xie Changshi, Rong Jing’s dream was to eat, loaf around, and wait to die. After meeting Xie Changshi, his dream became world peace, getting himself a rich sugar daddy (specifically, Xie Changshi), and eating, loafing around, and waiting to die. #Little zombie protects his husband and fights monsters every day# Theme: No matter how many hardships you face, keep your love for life alive.
