Upcoming: A Day in Xiqiao Town
Yuzhou was a ginseng plant deep in the mountains, and at last the thunder tribulation that would let him take human form arrived.
But the lightning never struck him. Someone stood in front of him and took the blow for him.
Yuzhou successfully took human form, remembering what the mountain spirits had said: demons must repay any kindness they receive.
Repaying a kindness could wait until after a nap, so Yuzhou slept soundly in the warm embrace.
During the reign of Emperor Zhaoming, Shi Yan went hunting at night and wandered into the mountains. Even the Son of Heaven wasn't spared from being struck by lightning.
When he woke, there was a naked young man in his arms.
The young man opened his eyes timidly and said in halting words, "I'm here to repay your kindness."
New to the human world, Yuzhou was innocent and naive. The only thing he thought about each day was how to repay the kindness.
But Shi Yan wanted for nothing and asked for nothing.
Repaying a kindness wasn't easy, Yuzhou sighed.
Until one day, he discovered Shi Yan secretly taking medicine, and his eyes lit up.
He held out his arm to Shi Yan. "Bite me. You'll get better soon."
Shi Yan beckoned to him with a finger. "There are other ways you can repay me. You don't have to bite me."
Yuzhou's eyes widened. He hadn't known repayment could work like that. It did seem a little hard on the ginseng.
Every day after that, Yuzhou pestered Shi Yan to let him repay the favor, until he had filled his little notebook with the number of times he'd done so.
After repaying his debt, Yuzhou packed his things and prepared to return to the mountains. But when he reached the foot of the palace wall, he was caught and taken back.
Shi Yan tied a red cord around him. "I heard that if you tie a red cord around a ginseng plant, it can't escape. Is that true?"
Yuzhou: ...
A false rumor, and the ginseng pays the price.
Important notes: 1. This is a fluffy, brainless story, and there may be plot holes. The bottom is silly and sweet. If that's not your thing, don't read it.
2. The logic may not always make sense, and the writing isn't anything special.
3. There is a secondary couple.
4. Wishing everyone happiness every day.
The next novel will be Everyday Life in Xiqiao Town. Blurb:
Chang Xiao was frail from childhood, and his parents died early. He grew up eating meals provided by the people of the town.
A master at Baolin Temple once read his fate and declared that he would live a difficult life and die young, but somehow he still managed to grow up, stumbling along the way.
The Chang family used to run an apothecary, and Chang Xiao had grown up surrounded by the trade. He could treat the townspeople's minor aches and fevers, earning a little here and there.
He was gentle by nature and smiled at everyone.
He should have made a good husband, but his sickly body meant that no one sought his hand when he came of age.
Lin Zhouhui was the former young master of the Five Flavors Restaurant in Xiqiao Town. Why former? Because his father was a gambling addict, sold the family business to pay his debts, and died soon after.
He had only two wishes in life: to buy back the family business, and to find his good friend Chang Xiao a suitable wife.
The first was easy. The second was as difficult as scaling the heavens, because Lin Zhouhui's standards were simply too high.
She had to be able to take care of Chang Xiao, know how to cook, and be able to earn money. If she was too gentle, she might be bullied; if she was too fierce, she might bully Chang Xiao.
He searched and searched, but couldn't find anyone suitable. One day, Lin Zhouhui saw his reflection in the water jar where he was washing his face.
Why couldn't it be him?
He was handsome, had taken care of Chang Xiao since childhood, was a great cook, and knew how to make money. Why couldn't it be him?
As matchmakers shook their heads and left the Chang family courtyard one after another, Lin Zhouhui slipped inside and found Chang Xiao covering his mouth as he coughed, his brows drawn together.
"Xiaoxiao, what do you think of me?"
Chang Xiao's furrowed brows relaxed. He patted Lin Zhouhui gently on the head. "You're such a fool."
PS: 1. A warm slice-of-life story, with no male wives.
2. The bottom is very frail. I just love stories about sickly beauties.
Core message: A drop of kindness should be repaid with a flood of gratitude.
Do you know, after reading this article, I went to Taobao to buy Changbai Mountain ginseng seeds and planted them???
There's actually a side story! An unexpected surprise, Bamboo Horse Bamboo Horse enjoys it
The if line is terrible. Fortunately, it's not the main text.
I read the novel "Find the Treasure" in one sitting and it was so good
The writing style is still good, but the author needs to have more confidence in himself and don't need to be so modest in future copywriting. The story is a bit simple, but very enjoyable to watch.
Very very sweet text. It seems that it will make people feel good in the future!
Thanks for free. Very plain sweet article.
Why did I order the whole book before and now I want to re-order it? 😭
I watched it again, it's so cute [cat's claw][cat's claw][cat's claw]
