I Really Only Know Ctrl!!!

[Urban supernatural abilities + unconventional infinite-flow]

[The next book, "The Protagonist, But He Can Talk to the Author", blurb at the end]

1. Xie Sheng had always thought he was just an ordinary college student, until one day, he encountered a paranormal event at home.

And gained an earth-shattering supernatural ability: [Ctrl+(computer shortcut)] [SB]

Xie Sheng: ?

That was when he learned that beneath this world's seemingly peaceful surface, hidden currents were stirring, and supernatural ability users were battling strange creatures.

Xie Sheng joined the National Administration Bureau. He soon eliminated his second anomalous domain and gained an ability upgrade: [NC].

After eliminating the third, he gained another ability upgrade: [AV].

Xie Sheng: ???

2. Later, Xie Sheng finally understood that his abilities were actually [Ctrl+S] and [Ctrl+B].

Whether the strange creatures were targeting him or just messing with him, he kept getting all kinds of weird letter combinations.

So in the cases that followed, while everyone else used powerful abilities to fight monsters,

Xie Sheng used [Ctrl+C (Copy)] and [Ctrl+V (Paste)]: “Your ability is really handy. Mind if I borrow it for a while?”

The army of strange creatures advanced step by step.

Xie Sheng used [Ctrl+Z (Undo previous action)]: “Back, back, back!”

The strange creatures trapped everyone in a wooden cabin and grinned as they set it on fire.

Xie Sheng used [Ctrl+N (New window)]: “Didn't see that coming, did you? I can create a separate safe house.”

3. For a computer whiz, using [Ctrl+] shortcuts is second nature.

The world was in turmoil, but Xie Sheng took it easy.

Until one day, he met a handsome guy and discovered that he had an equally ridiculous ability: [Made in China]. He could sense and control every item [Made in China] within a certain radius, including but not limited to household goods, machinery, and electronic products.

With China's manufacturing industry developing at a breakneck pace, the handsome guy's ability was basically carried by the motherland itself, making him unbeatable. So Xie Sheng kept borrowing it for free.

As time went by, Xie Sheng wanted to try out the handsome guy himself, too. On the day they became a couple, he planned to use [Ctrl+B] to do a little work on him.

But before Xie Sheng could even use his ability, one look left him utterly stunned.

S-sorry, I… I can't take that!!!

1. Gentle, scheming top x computer-brained, unhinged bottom; both are strong, and both are troublemakers

2. Set in an alternate modern world, with both infinite-flow instances and urban paranormal cases; no bullet comments or livestreams

3. The golden finger isn't powerful; the focus is more on deduction

4. Not scary (I think), but I'll try to make it funny

5. Extreme top- or bottom-fans, stay away; no role reversal or breaking up the couple

6. I revise constantly and take no responsibility for pirated copies

7. The first volume has commissioned illustrations of the bottom from each instance

The next book, "The Protagonist, But He Can Talk to the Author". You're invited to admire its gorgeous cover.

1. Ning Yelan always thought he was just an ordinary wage slave, until one day a voice suddenly rang out in his head: “Oh no, how am I supposed to write the opening of this book?!”

Ning Yelan: ? Who's the opening? Why does it need writing?

That was when he learned that the world he thought was perfectly ordinary was actually a novel written by an author in a higher dimension.

So far, the novel only had an outline and a one-sentence premise: Ning Yelan was the protagonist, tasked with saving humanity.

Ning Yelan: Huh? Me?

Ning Yelan: Then your novel can forget about getting published.

2. The author told Ning Yelan that the ability he'd been given was to collect classic urban legends and the strange beings from Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio, such as the nine-tailed fox, the spirit of the writing medium, the slit-mouthed woman, and Bloody Mary.

Ning Yelan was very interested, so he followed the author's outline and went around collecting monsters one by one.

Then the story took a turn:

Ning Yelan: Spirit of the writing medium, spirit of the writing medium, can you tell me when I'll get rich?

The spirit of the writing medium (drawing circles on the paper): After you die.

Ning Yelan: Can you make that sooner?

The spirit of the writing medium writes: Sure. I'll help you die right now.

Ning Yelan: Sadako, Sadako, do me a favor.

Sadako (climbing out of the TV): Who are we scaring? You, or your boss?

Ning Yelan: No, no. Can you check what's wrong with the router? Yes, the one beside your hair.

Ning Yelan: Mary, Mary, Mary.

Bloody Mary (appearing in the mirror, her face covered in blood): What is it?

Ning Yelan: How does my new hairstyle look? Do you think I can ask the prettiest girl in high school out?

Bloody Mary: You look like a novel's male lead.

Ning Yelan: I'm satisfied.

Bloody Mary: The novel I read was a danmei novel.

3. Spurred on by the author in his head, Ning Yelan works hard to build up his side's forces and prepare for the coming battle to defend human civilization.

At last, the decisive battle arrives as promised.

Ning Yelan summons all the strange beings, ready for action.

But to his horror, he discovers that the ultimate villain is none other than the boss he sees every day!

Ning Yelan often sends ghosts to scare him, too. Although this ridiculous boss isn't afraid, and even refills the writing medium's ink, styles Sadako's hair, and buys Bloody Mary luxury dresses.

Author's instructions: The boss is allergic to your saliva. Hurry, kiss him!

The author, excited: Yes! Then turn and leave. Make him chase you!

The more Ning Yelan follows the instructions, the more wrong it feels.

Author: Huh? Didn't I tell you I was writing a danmei novel?

Author (shyly): Oh, well, I hadn't completely decided at the time. You know how it is. An outline is just an outline, and anything can change before the novel begins.

Ning Yelan: ???

Bloody Mary elegantly applies her nail polish. “Didn't I tell you from the start?”

Theme: Never give up.
