System, You Got My Gender Wrong

At seventeen, Xu Fuguang was bound to a System that had come to the wrong door, and learned that he didn’t have long to live. All the sacrifices he had made to treat his illness had been meaningless. System: “Would you like to defeat your rivals and earn your parents’ affection?” Xu Fuguang: “Can you cure my illness?” System: “Would you like to improve your social life and make the people who exclude you look up to you?” Xu Fuguang: “Can you cure my illness?” System: “Would you like to shine brightly and find sweet love?” Xu Fuguang: “What the hell are you? What are you good for? Can you cure my illness?” System: “I... I’m the ‘Goddess Makeover System’! I can make you so beautiful that you’ll captivate the whole world!” “?” Xu Fuguang, a tough-as-nails straight guy who had played basketball and raced around the school track before his illness, earning screams from his female classmates, turned and walked away. System: “W-wait! Don’t get hung up on a few details! Look at my amazing prize pool!” Looking at the prize pool, full of items like “Skin Like Jade,” “A Slender Waist,” and “Unforgettable Eyes,” with only a few “Boundless Energy” and “Genetic Repair” rewards mixed in, Xu Fuguang clenched his fists. * To cure his illness, Xu Fuguang resolutely embarked on the endless road of prize draws. He raced from one System-assigned class to another: French, German, calligraphy, painting, cello, organ, horseback riding, posture training, ballet... and more. He pushed himself to the limit, reaching a whole new level of obsessive overwork. Meanwhile, he scoffed at the System’s attempts to persuade him to take a shortcut with a higher payoff: winning people’s favor. But the drop rate for medicine was dismal. Whenever he drew “Hair Black as Clouds” or “Posture Class +1,” Xu Fuguang would lose it. Favorability? He wanted to kill everyone in the world! System: “The Host’s current behavior does not meet goddess standards. Please correct it promptly!” With the help of a short-term potion, Xu Fuguang finally had a little energy: Kill, kill, kill He was going to go crazy. Everyone could just die! And yet After Xu Fuguang kicked his provocatively mouthy stepsister across the room, his biological parents hesitated. “You should change the way you talk, too. You know what your brother’s temper is like.” Xu Fuguang rolled up his sleeves to fight the rival he’d once beaten half to death. The other boy looked away. “It’s pretty cold today. Don’t let yourself get chilled...” His male and female classmates, usually so high and mighty, said, “He’s not bad-tempered. The campus queen just has a strong personality.” Xu Fuguang slowly turned to the last person. “What did you call me?” The other person’s face turned a suspicious shade of red. “Campus prince! I meant campus prince! I got it wrong! Sorry!” *A guy focused on curing his illness, convinced he’s straight, x a guy who’s nonchalant at first and turns ferocious later, also convinced he’s straight Content warnings: lots and lots and lots of them. Run! * Old-school tropes. Just look at the name Goddess Makeover System to see what you’re getting: its default settings are based on old-school stories! * Everyone falls for him! Everyone falls for him! Unrequited feelings come from all genders. Run if you can’t handle it! * The recipient of affection is ridiculously overpowered and the story is very cheesy. Run! * The protagonist is a savage! He also thinks he hasn’t got long to live, so his fists are stronger than his judgment! * The protagonist is still young and doesn’t put much effort into some missions. Don’t expect him to consider the greater good just to stay alive! * The protagonist thinks he’s straight! He won’t change his mind easily! * The leads seem to be distant relatives. * More warnings are lining up to be listed... Theme: Depending on yourself is better than relying on outside help
