My First Time as a Cheetah

Cheng Jin had spent twenty-seven years as a human. Then he opened his eyes and found himself in the body of a leopard on the grasslands. And not just any leopard: a badly injured one. He searched his meager knowledge of animals for information about leopards, and finally decided he must be a leopard. Reason one: Cheetahs can't climb trees, but he was in one. Reason two: There was another leopard beside him, a "good friend." Cheng Jin immediately relaxed. At least he had transmigrated into an apex predator, not a herbivore. "Heaven hasn't treated me too badly after all." Licking his sharp claws, Cheng Jin sighed, "Not only did I become a leopard, I even got a leopard brother." He let his guard down too soon, missing the ferocious, wild look in the leopard's eyes beside him. But Cheng Jin forgot that the animal in a tree wasn't necessarily a leopard. It could also be a cheetah, half-dead and dragged up there to be stored as food. Like him. So, one peaceful afternoon, as he washed his face by the water, he was horrified to discover two tear marks on his face. The cheetah's signature tear marks! Cheng Jin: Goodbye. I'm running for my life! * It was the first time the leopard Luo En had been ambushed by its own prey, and by a cheetah, no less. Though "ambushed" wasn't quite right, since the other animal was always clingy and dependent on it, rubbing and licking it without a care. It kept thinking, I'm not hungry today. I'll eat this cheetah tomorrow. It's the rainy season, so I'm not hungry. I'll eat this cheetah in the dry season. I'm not hungry this year. I'll eat this cheetah next year... Until one day, the cheetah washed its face by the river and ran off. It said goodbye forever. Luo En: ? Reader's guide: 1. Both leads are animals and never turn human. 2.
