[World Two is complete]
Yan Li is an outstanding employee at the quick transmigration bureau.
His job is to travel through one small world after another, helping or accompanying the protagonists of power fantasy stories through their lowest moments. As soon as they start making a name for themselves, Yan Li completes his mission and quickly exits the story.
In the first world, he is the power-fantasy hero’s older brother, who loses both parents as a boy and raises his younger brother and sister. All the worry and hard work leave him with a body riddled with illness.
Just as his younger siblings get into prestigious universities and swear they’ll never let their big brother suffer again, a car accident takes the life of the older brother they love so dearly.
-
In the second world, he is the only child of a bankrupt CEO couple. He lives with his parents in a leaky rental and picks up rotten vegetable leaves at the market.
But just as the company is back on its feet, the day before they’re due to move back into a mansion, the feverish little boy quietly stops breathing in the rental.
-
In the third world, he is a young miracle doctor who is lured down from the mountains by the founding emperor’s crew. He travels and sleeps rough with those rugged men, but they all dote on him and treat him like a treasured child. He is everyone’s emotional anchor.
But when the final battle ends, he drains his body of blood to spare everyone else.
-
In the fourth world…
He stays with the protagonists through their lowest moments, but never until the end.
…
According to the plot, after he exits, the power-fantasy heroes will grieve for a while, but soon begin new lives.
But just before he retires, Yan Li gets word that his previous mission worlds have all been judged failures. With no other choice, he has to revisit them one by one.
And so he sees
A young founder of a business empire, cold and taciturn, with a fearsome presence, always getting dead drunk in front of a small gravestone and murmuring the name of his brother who died young.
A fabulously wealthy couple who have been childless for more than a decade. The largest room in their mansion is locked tight, filled with children’s toys.
…
Worse still, when he visits, he’s in his own body, yet everyone looks at him and their eyes quickly turn red.
Yan Li doesn’t know that the moment he was lost, no matter how much wealth, power, or fame his loved ones gained, a piece of their hearts named happiness was gone forever.
He is everyone’s
long-lost treasure, found again.
Please note:
1. The top is the same person throughout, not split into fragments. One-on-one, both are each other’s first. The power-fantasy protagonist isn’t necessarily the top in every world~
2. The bottom is doted on by everyone, with family and friendship storylines. In almost every world, the bottom will be sickly for a significant part of the story, so some of the related scenes may tug at your heartstrings.
3. World One has a bad ending; the other worlds have happy endings, as does the main story.
4. Logic takes a back seat, so please don’t hold it against the author~
5. 50% anti-piracy.

“The Pretty Little Beggar Marries into the Villain’s Den”
(1)
During the spring hunt of the twenty-eighth year of Qiyuan, Xuan Yao disguises himself as a beggar to carry out a mission.
By chance, he runs into Pei Zhang, heir to the Duke Chengguo household, who has defied an imperial order to marry. The emperor flies into a rage and points at Xuan Yao, ordering him to marry Pei Zhang instead.
Xuan Yao: “???”
Everyone knows the Duke Chengguo household is a den of demons!
The old duke is cold and brutal, and drinks like a fish. His eldest son wields great power and hides a dagger behind every smile. His second son commands the imperial guards and thirsts for blood. Even Pei Zhang, at just seventeen, is cold-hearted to the core.
Xuan Yao: I’m doomed!
On their wedding night, his bargain-bin husband lifted his veil, stared at him for a few seconds, and warned him coldly, “Two years. Once the court has stabilized, I’ll clear my name and divorce you.”
“Keep your head down. If you provoke anyone else, you’ll lose your life, and I won’t plead for you.”
Xuan Yao looked at him, grinned, and obediently agreed.
From then on, the Duke Chengguo household knew no peace.

Pei Zhang had thought the pretty little beggar was meek and timid, but he never imagined how badly he’d misjudged him!
At home, Xuan Yao led the servants in catching rabbits, smashed the duke’s treasured wine jars, caught his eldest brother’s venomous snake and roasted it, and rode his decisive, ruthless second brother like a horse.
At the Imperial College, he climbed onto the roof, stirred up trouble with chickens and dogs, pulled the director’s beard, and led a group of nobles’ sons into all kinds of mischief, leaving their teacher fuming!
…
At first, Pei Zhang watched coldly from the sidelines, even thinking that with this little menace causing such a ruckus, the gloomy atmosphere in the household had lifted a little.
But later
He watched Xuan Yao cuddle up to his eldest brother and wheedle him for pastries, then turn around and throw an arm around his second brother, as close as could be. Outside the wall, his classmates from the Imperial College were lined up to bring him all the latest novelties…
The boy was carefree and radiant, like a little sun, never stingy with his light, brightening the entire Duke Chengguo household.
Yet with him, his nominal “husband,” he was always proper and never crossed a line.

When the two years were up, Xuan Yao went to Pei Zhang with divorce papers and waited eagerly for him to sign.
Pei Zhang looked at the line of people behind his little wife. Every one of them was glaring at him, just waiting for him to sign so they could snatch Xuan Yao up and take him home.
Pei Zhang shut the door with a cold expression, then turned and pinned the unsuspecting Xuan Yao against the wall. His eyes were red, and his voice was hoarse. “Xuan Yao, you can be kind to everyone in the world, so why do you have to leave me behind?”
“I won’t divorce you.”
“Please… look at me.”

Everyone thought they had claimed the brightest, warmest sun.
Until the day of the palace coup, when they saw Xuan Yao holding a long sword, his expression cold as he slew the dragon with a single strike.
Then they watched helplessly as he fell into the snow like a kite with its string cut, blood spilling from his mouth, yet he still tried to smile as he spoke. “I’m sorry… I’ve deceived you all for so long…”
In that moment, the whole family of powerful, corrupt officials was torn apart with grief.
