Blurb:
The day Rina entered Fushiguro Megumi's life, he was six and she was fifteen.
Young and infatuated, Rina fell for Fushiguro Megumi's deadbeat dad, Fushiguro Toji, whom Megumi barely even remembered. Unfortunately, even though Toji was a deadbeat, he still had a conscience. No matter how much Rina tried to tempt him with money, Toji would only spend her money, never lay a hand on her.
Believing that persistence brings success and familiarity breeds affection, Rina decided to build a good relationship with Fushiguro Megumi first and infiltrate the enemy's camp.
Fushiguro Megumi ignored her sweet-talking, determined to carry his own little backpack to school.
After that, Fushiguro Toji died, leaving Fushiguro Megumi and Tsumiki as unwanted "burdens" with no one to look after them.
Rina showed up at their door, determined to take Fushiguro Megumi and Tsumiki in and care for them.
Six-year-old Fushiguro Megumi was precocious and sensible. "That man is dead. You don't need to look after the dead weight he left behind."
Rina patted his head. "Toji-kun spent so much of my money, so I need to get it back from you. When you grow up, you'll work to pay me back."
Rina became his Big Sis Rina.
Big Sis Rina was beautiful, cheerful, generous, scatterbrained, and clumsy. Gradually, as Fushiguro Megumi grew up, he became the one looking after her.
Fushiguro Megumi hated being touched, but Big Sis Rina could pat his head.
Fushiguro Megumi kept the Ten Shadows Technique a strict secret, but he let the Divine Dogs stay by Big Sis Rina's side.
Fushiguro Megumi was aloof and fastidious, but he would willingly eat the food Big Sis Rina left behind.
The day he dreamed about Big Sis Rina, he was fifteen and she was twenty-four.
And so Big Sis Rina became Rina again.
The young man lowered his cool gaze. His face was like jade, his long lashes concealing every emotion in his eyes.
"Rina... do you still like that person?"
Rina patted his head, but he caught her hand and pulled it away without letting go.
"Call me Big Sis! I guess I do still like him? Toji-kun is good at fighting, handsome, and has a great body. I haven't met anyone like him in all these years."
"What about me?" He took her hand and brought it to his face, raising his brows, so much like the other man's.
"I look a lot like him, don't I? I'm good at fighting too, and my body... will only get better. Would you consider me?"
Rina tried to pull her hand back in shock, but she couldn't match his strength. "Are you sick or something?"
"No," he denied at once, then added, "If you're looking for someone who fits his standards, shouldn't I be the first person you consider?"
"After all, I'm the closest copy of him there is."
He was seventeen, turning eighteen after midnight. She was twenty-seven.
A long, exhausting night.
The next day, Rina felt Fushiguro Megumi slip something onto her ring finger. She raised her sleepy eyes and saw it was a ring.
He held her in his arms, his chest radiating warmth, and waved a bank transfer notification in front of her. "Now you belong to me, and so does your money. Don't think about using me and then dumping me, Big Sis Rina."
Rina: ...Don't casually start calling me Big Sis again the day after we do it!
"Content warnings"
1. A peaceful parallel universe that avoids the Shibuya Incident and everything that follows. The female lead is an ordinary person, so she won't get involved in the jujutsu world.
2. The premise is as described in the blurb, so proceed with caution if you can't accept it. They are both adults when they get together!
3. The female lead may have an ex. (The story will take precedence. This may be changed later; the outline isn't finalized.)
4. Sadly, this isn't a love triangle (for the sake of keeping things peaceful!). The female lead genuinely falls for Fushiguro Megumi in the end, not because he's a substitute for someone else.
5. Essentially a sweet, everyday-life romance. You probably don't need to have read the original work to enjoy it.
6. OOC, OOC, OOC (important enough to say three times). I'm not Gege Akutami and can't perfectly recreate the characters. Their actions and logic are based on the original work plus [this story's plot]. I'll do my best to stay true to them, but a truly faithful portrayal isn't possible. My own interpretation will inevitably be part of the writing. If our interpretations differ, there's no need to force agreement, and certainly no need to demand that I write the characters exactly as you imagine them. Thank you! (Bows three times.) (Comments along those lines will be deleted, so please understand.)
