Never Thought I'd Get with the Times and Try a Girls' Love Romance

Set in a fictional world with no connection to reality. Please don't relate it to real life.

Herbert had three great regrets in his insect life: getting passed over for promotion because of his seniority, becoming a widower on his wedding day, and having his door kicked in late at night by a widowed female insect.

The one who kicked his door in was his former student and current nemesis, General Franz, who harassed Herbert every single time they met.

But unlike all the other times Franz had come to pick a fight, this time he restrained Herbert's hands and feet and said he wanted to fight him in bed.

I transmigrated into an interstellar world. Sigh, I got pretty lucky.

But I changed species. They tell me I'm a female insect.

In my previous life I worked myself to the bone, but both my parents were alive. This life, I'm an orphan from the start, and I hatched from an egg. Franz, a former Earthling man now living as a female insect, felt the world's deep malice toward him.

Luckily, the interstellar social safety net was pretty good. A kitchen disaster in his previous life, Franz was now unable to taste anything, but could still down three tubes of nutrition paste a day. In a world where female insects averaged 1.95 meters tall, he managed to reach 2.21 meters, just five centimeters short of Yao Ming. He was also smarter than in his previous life. Thanks to his natural test-taker's talent, he breezed through all the qualification exams and became a recruit at eighteen.

Ten years of training, endless years apart. Earned points, dug mines with all his heart. With no women around, where could he share his sorrow? Though his rank had risen from sergeant to lieutenant, colonel, and general, the road was still long. At night, he dreamed of seducing his teacher, forbidden love, their shadows entwined. Unable to accept it, after eighty years as a workaholic, he came to a realization: maybe he was into women after all.

Franz, who had taken eighty years to figure out his feelings, was just about to confess when he received the devastating news that his teacher, single for over a century, was finally getting married.

More or less a guide to surviving as a female insect.

Female insects with both taking charge.
