A chaotic ensemble story where everyone dies in the end. At its core, it's a politically obsessed military strategy game, palace intrigue, and household drama, shifting from foreign war to civil war to an internal cold war. At least one million words.
The chronological order of the stories is "The Story of Humanity," "The Female Insect's Revenge," "As the Unhappy One in a Pair of Fools," and "The Male Insect's Revenge."

[Sci-Fi] The Story of Humanity
"I came, and now I go."
After discovering that artificial intelligence could not solve the problems facing their development, the "new humans" living on Demis contributed all their "private property," including themselves, to the crucible of life: a gene-editing culture dish. There, they cultivated the most genetically perfect human being of the present age: a woman.
The artificial intelligence named her Ye.
[Insectoid] The Female Insect's Revenge
Marshal Eros's past.
Eros has no surname, no female or male parent, and no so-called family.
He is a typical orphan of a military female. All information about his female parent was lost in the endless wars. The Insectoid's expansion into other territories came at the cost of three generations of his family: his female parent, his female grandparent, and his great-grandparent. In exchange, the Insectoid gained an enormous territory spanning dozens of star regions.
The various species reached a peace agreement, and the Insectoid became the undisputed hegemon. Across the boundless universe, intelligent life spontaneously came to regard the Insectoid as its leader. This shift in status brought lasting peace. With no longer any need for war, the Insectoid began to downsize its military, and being a military female was no longer a necessary attribute for every female insect.
But Eros remained a military female.
He was one of the lucky ones. Even as enlistment standards grew stricter by the day, he was specially recruited for his exceptional abilities, which surpassed every requirement. He had once served as a soldier in the Insectoid garrison on Human territory. Later, he became a junior officer, then a senior officer, and finally was transferred back to the capital planet to command the ceremonial guard.
His features were regular and his eyes sharp, yet his bearing was gentle.
He was tall, but not grotesquely so. Every line of muscle on his body showed off the natural advantages of a female insect.
But with no war to fight, the best post for such an outstanding military female was standing guard in front of the military headquarters.
And amid the endless stream of passing insects, Major Eros met his male master.
Baldwin Belfort.
Foreign war turned into civil war, and centuries of accumulated grievances erupted all at once. The insects caught in the maelstrom rejoiced, predicting a complete revolution and a new chapter for the Insectoid.
The flames of war sprang up from the Insectoid's heart, the capital planet. Military females calling themselves the Revolutionary Army stormed the palace and beat the Insect Emperor and the reigning Empress, a marshal from the military, into a bloody pulp. With their supreme leaders dead in a grisly fashion, the entire aristocratic system teetered on the brink of collapse.
A war that should not have reached them was now at their doorstep, and with nearly half the military in revolt, they could barely keep it under control.
With no other choice, the nobles freed the civilian officers who had been struggling under the system of female slavery.
Now free, Eros should have stood with the Revolutionary Army. He had been victimized by the nobles' system of female slavery and ought naturally to have been on their side. Yet he still chose to defend the system.
For the sake of his newborn male offspring.
"A war to end all wars."
"Hah."
[Insectoid] As the Unhappy One in a Pair of Fools
"It's nothing... I just feel like my stagnant life was inevitably headed toward something so ordinary."
Twelve years after the system of female slavery and the enslaved females themselves were abolished, the criminal code's provisions on male insect crimes were brought up for renewed discussion. They were to be drafted into Bill No. 404, the main reference for compensating victims of the former system and holding male insect perpetrators accountable.
As the most famous victim of the system of female slavery and a driving force behind the bill, Major General Eros's child, Wiseman Belfort, had attended male insect gatherings time and again, and even committed the crime of murdering a female insect. The victim was a twenty-six-year-old captain and military female. Her female parent had long since died in service, and her biological male parent had long since started a new family. Yet when the female insect died, the male insect was overcome with grief. Before long, his repeated public disclosures and appeals brought the military female's death to public attention, unexpectedly igniting public anger.
Fortunately, the male insects had been cautious. The evidence collected by the female insects in the military could not form a complete chain of proof, and the trial of the male insects involved in the crimes was repeatedly delayed.
Before everything came to light, Major General Eros, convinced that his child would never become like the male insect who had given him half his genes, took Wiseman to the front line against the rebels, where he was due to be arrested along with the others. The urgency of the fighting and Eros's efforts to pull strings were almost enough to get the male insect off the hook.
If he had not met Gene, a male insect who came there as an entertainer to perform for the troops.
[Insectoid] The Male Insect's Revenge
Jim was an ordinary B-rank male insect, and even his name was one of the most common in the Insectoid.
But his fate was anything but ordinary.
As the male insect who had entered into a marriage contract with an S-rank female insect general, he believed he was doing his duty and earning his pay.
The female insect wanted them to be master and spouse in name only? Fine. He respected her wishes. Apart from showing up when necessary to keep up appearances, they lived separate lives, with a bed for each of them. Since the female insect hated physical contact, he had never even touched her hand. He agreed to such an outrageous arrangement, yet she could still lie through her teeth and call him a scumbag in front of her lover. So Jim, who had expected to amicably end the contract and divorce, was framed by that adulterous pair and accused of betraying his species. The former "most beautiful male insect" became a military brothel worker. Desperate, he swallowed the iron filings he had saved up and ended his life.
But after the darkness came a new world.
Reborn on the day after he had married that wretched female insect under contract, Jim was eating breakfast and looking at her even more miserable, deathly expression than in his previous life. Recalling what he had said back then, he repeated it from memory. But this time the female insect, who had always given him a dead-eyed glare, looked at him with shock and nostalgia, and spoke with a gentleness completely unlike the coldness of his previous life.
Right, no need to overthink it. That wretched female insect must have been reborn just like him.
Smiling, Jim stabbed his fork into the cake before him and thought wistfully, "Well, fancy meeting you here."
A reborn game of Werewolf. Jim needs to keep his rebirth secret so he can get revenge on the male and female insects who schemed against him in his previous life: "Fresh, sticky corn on the cob!"

Wow wow wow, Teacher J, I finally found you. Congratulations on winning the resurrection match in JJ. I saw this for the first time at the flower market three years ago. This is such a sad story that has obsessed me for three years. I really like the teacher's story. It's a beautiful and cruel world. Thank you Rolls. I will always support Rolls!
It's better to have respect than to have nothing at all, right?
