The Timid Widower Forced to Marry Again

Before her husband died, Yun Yuan had a wonderful life. Her husband took him in when he was young, and he never had to suffer. Once grown, he became the master of the great Yun clan. He and his husband loved each other for decades, and they had an exceptionally gifted eldest son. After her husband died, Yun Yuan still lived comfortably. His clan protected him, and his nieces and nephews cared for him. Only when his eldest son left to study at the Sword Sect did he often feel lonely and miss his late husband. The clan pitied him for being widowed so young and wanted to find him a new match. Yun Yuan was easygoing, to put it kindly. Though he wasn't keen, he went to every meeting they arranged. But whenever they asked what he thought, he would stammer, eyes red, and say that he had thought of his late husband again. With such deep devotion, how could anyone who was interested in him force him to move on? More than a decade passed. His eldest son had become the Sword Sect's top disciple, and Yun Yuan had reached the age of one hundred, when an envoy from the Dragon Clan came to a banquet at the Yun residence and fell for him at first sight. This time, no matter what Yun Yuan said, it was no use. Dressed in red once more, with his hair and makeup done, Yun Yuan sat in the bridal sedan, unable to refuse, and went to Dragon Island in tears. Several years later, when his eldest son came to visit again, Yun Yuan lowered his eyes and carefully showed him the child in his arms. “...Look, he's so tiny. And he was born with a pair of red horns just like his father's.” A note: The recipient is the main character. Since the multi-oriented category this is listed under has no recipient-focused tag, I’m clarifying that here. A story about a widow being forced into marriage. 1. Yun Yuan's feelings for his previous husband are explored in detail. Plenty of bystanders, both men and women, have one-sided crushes on him. Feel free to ship them, but the only official pairing is with the male lead, a dragon. 2. Not recommended for readers who are protective of the recipient. Yun Yuan is weak and dependent, and in the relationship he is always in the submissive position. He's constantly coerced and forced to compromise against his will. 3. Even less recommended for readers who are protective of the pursuer. Yan is the pursuer because he's the stronger one. Everything he does must be motivated by his love for Yun Yuan. 4. My column's “Saving Fallen Women” is controversial. If you have strong preferences on this subject, please look into it yourself before deciding whether to read this book. I assume everyone who reads it is okay with it. Comments that insult the author and issue warnings will be deleted. 5. My column's “He's Useless and Still Refuses to Marry a Man” is also controversial. See point 4 for an explanation. 6. I went out of my way to list this under the multi-oriented category. Theme: Love can nourish life, but it doesn't have to be the only thing that does
