Yes, I come from a world where superheroes have switched sides between good and evil. Yes, I was adopted by a billionaire. Yes, I have black hair and blue eyes. Yes, I have a bird for a name.
No, I’m not a Bat-brat or a Talon. I knew you’d guess that. And, by the way, I’m not a Kryptonian either.
I’m sure you’ve figured out who my father is. That’s right: the genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist. Everything would be fine, except he wears a flashy silver-white suit of armor instead of a red-and-gold tin can.
…All right, I lied. Nothing is fine.
I hate this world.
I spent ten years cursing it silently, and it might finally have heard me, because then I was kicked into another world, one where the sun rises in the east and sets in the west like it’s supposed to.
I watched the red sun rise in the east, and tears streamed down my face.
Sorry, I forgot my sunglasses. Let me try that again.
I watched the sun slowly sink in the west, and couldn’t help but, Could this superhero please move out of the way? Your butt is blocking my view of the sunset over Gotham Bay. And you, your pecs are blocking the coastline. Oh, sorry, heroes. I had no choice before, but now I want to be a good person.
Anyway, however I got here, I’m ready to leave my awful birth world behind and start a new life here.
…But some things from your past will never let you go, will they?

Halcyon is a strange man.
He is arrogant and cold, yet honest and forthright. He is ruthless and merciless, yet gentle, friendly, and a good listener. He’s also very considerate of minors (meaning the little green-scaled one in short shorts).
He possesses technology far beyond this era… yet nobody knows where he came from.
So when that white tin can walked through the door and appeared before everyone, they all felt a sense of relief.
“So your last name is Stark… Oh, well, that does explain a lot.”
(Iron Man: “Hey!”)
But it wouldn’t be long before they realized how different the two worlds were
“Alcy,” the man drawled, his voice almost affectionate. “Aren’t you going to tell me about your travels?”
And Halcyon, cold, arrogant Halcyon, lowered his head obediently in front of everyone, like a wild horse fitted with a bridle.
“It’s been a long time… Father.”
Tips:
1. No CP. Nothing that happens in the story should be taken as suggesting a romantic pairing.
2. The protagonist’s moral compass is complicated, and the author’s degree of chaotic evil is complicated too.
3. The relationship between the protagonist and White Tin Can is a little twisted, angsty, and genuinely melodramatic.
4. First- and third-person narration alternate. There’s more third person later on.
5. The timeline, plot, everything has been heavily altered. OOC warning.
Core theme: Accepting yourself is the beginning of growth
