Hello, my name is Qingshui Luo.
I am a collection of melodramatic quotes.
Yes, that's right.
I am a book... a... book spirit.
My former owner brought me to Gotham, and I successfully became a spirit here.
Gotham really is a wonderful place (sighs).
There's just one thing that's not so great.
I can only write melodramatic stories online to earn enough royalties to support myself.
Because melodrama is all I know how to write.
And I've discovered that the more melodramatic stories I write, the stronger I become.
I thought my days would go on like this: writing melodramatic stories day after day, getting cursed out by readers for how over-the-top my plots are, and hearing them threaten to beat me up in person.
Haha, there's nothing I can do. Gotham's readers are just so passionate (sighs again).
Then, one day, out of nowhere...
My house was blown up.
A man came crashing in from outside.
A dark, dark human man who looked like he was about to die.
As a book spirit, I can't stand watching a human life fade away right in front of me.
Besides, if he died, who would pay for my house and all the damages?
So I healed him.
Using the abilities of the CEO's doctor friend from a melodramatic romance.
That's right, I can use the abilities found in melodramatic stories.
Like changing my hair and eye color, or making my body smell like all kinds of pheromones, or... ahem.
Anyway, I saved that man.
Before he left, the man gave me a long look, then wired me a huge sum of money.
I waved enthusiastically at the cash and said, "Come again next time!"
And he really did come back.
Though it wasn't the same person, but that made no difference to me.
It seemed he had brought some kind of human paternity test report with him.
I looked at him, then at my reflection in the mirror.
And it suddenly dawned on me.
Sure, we both have black hair and blue eyes, but that doesn't mean we're related!
The man shook his head and pushed the report toward me.
I tentatively changed my hair color, turning it into a rainbow of colors.
His expression shifted. He fell silent for a moment, then stubbornly pushed the report toward me again.
With no way out, I lowered my head and glanced at it.
I skipped over all the stuff I couldn't understand and caught sight of just one line: “The two individuals are confirmed to be biologically related.”
I thought about it for a long time.
How could a book spirit be biologically related to a human?
Could it be...
I slowly raised my head and looked at him.
Was he the godfather of melodramatic fiction?!
N-no, that's not right.
Aren't I the spirit of melodramatic quotes?
Where did this human father come from?
And this kind of test is completely useless on me!
Because of the genius-cute-kid-finds-his-CEO-dad trope in melodramatic stories, any CEO's blood would match mine!
Huh?
A CEO?
I looked at the man in front of me and fell into deep thought.
Well... actually... maybe it wouldn't be so bad?
After living comfortably in the mansion for a while...
I seemed to discover a little secret among my “siblings and father.”
Looking at all that equipment and the wounds on their bodies,
I fell into deep thought once again.
You humans... are you really going this far for the position of heir to a wealthy family?
There will be a double identity-reveal plot. I personally think it's a lot of fun.
The reason for the black hair and blue eyes will be explained later.
Melodramatic fiction conquers the world, no explanation needed.
The whole world is a devoted fan of melodramatic fiction.
The main story is written in third person. It's a goofy, melodramatic story, and there probably won't be any masterminds behind the scenes. Just a simple, lighthearted, healing story.
The characters being out of character is on me! The timeline will probably be a mess, and there'll be plenty of headcanon! Just switch off your brain and enjoy it as a goofy daily-life story.
No writing advice, and no need to tell me if you're dropping the story. If you read pirated copies, I'll hate you forever!
Here's a preview from my upcoming works!
