For the Job, Gay Is Gay

*Bonus chapters currently updating *Also titled “What Do I Do If My Boss Falls for Me After I Pretend to Be Gay?” Qiao Shunying is unemployed. His boss didn't fire him. He fired his boss. His good friend Zhao Bei is even more anxious than he is. “Didn't we agree you'd put up with it? It was hard enough to find you a job. Is it easy to find work these days?” Qiao Shunying: “Aren't you a headhunter? Find me another one.” A few days later, Zhao Bei actually finds him one. “Don't say I never help you out. The best jobs don't get advertised.” Zhao Bei earnestly explains, “An amazing job just fell into my lap. No matter how much other people begged, I didn't recommend them. I saved it for you, bro.” “15K a month after tax, nine to six, weekends off, and they provide a dorm. Meals and accommodation included.” “But, well... there's one little drawback.” Qiao Shunying: “What drawback? From the sound of it, I'm the only thing missing from this job!” Zhao Bei: “They only hire gay men.” Qiao Shunying: ... Qiao Shunying: “We were roommates for four years in college. We're closer than brothers. Don't screw me over.” Zhao Bei panics. “How would I screw you over? Your degree, your major, your height, your looks, they're all tailor-made for this job. The referral fee for getting you hired is ten thousand. You get three, I get seven.” Qiao Shunying: “No way.” Zhao Bei starts listing the perks. “And what's wrong with the job? Two hours for lunch every day, the boss treats everyone to afternoon tea at four, ten days of annual leave during probation, twenty once you're permanent, full social insurance and housing fund, and this much for the year-end bonus!” Qiao Shunying watches his friend hold up five fingers. “Fine, you get seven and I get three.” He's going all in. Gay it is! I hate work. I write whatever comes to mind. Everything else is beneath me. I'm the only one who needs to be happy. January 13: I've finally started writing the actual story! Thanks for keeping me company at this hellish job every day! Theme: Cherish life, love living, and grab every chance you get.
