Transmigrated Into a Zerg Guidebook

[This story will be available to buy on February 28, with a 10,000-word update that day~]

[The March 3 update will drop at 10 p.m. Updates after that will be at midnight~]

You die in a completely unoriginal way and wake up in another world. More precisely, you’ve transmigrated into a book.

According to the System’s prompt, you’ve transmigrated into a story about the Zerg.

[The newly born Zerg are lost and brutal. You must guide them toward a better future.]

Oh, you know the drill. The usual Zerg story.

[They are born longing for and yearning for you. As the anchor between the Zerg and this world, you will also be worshipped.]

Mm-hmm, very classic Zerg-story flavor.

Then you actually arrive in this world

And find yourself staring into the eyes of the Ant King, Meruem.

You: Huh? Wait! Why didn’t anyone say it was this kind of Zerg?!

*

The moment Meruem, the Ant King, descends into the world and sees the light, his guards inform him, “Your destined guide is waiting for you, Your Majesty.”

A guide? Destined? What does that even mean?

Still unable to fully understand the meaning of those words, he goes to the palace and approaches a door. He opens it.

The woman behind it looks up at him with dark eyes.

At that moment, his soul trembles.

[And another reminder about the Hunter pre-order next door, Zoldyck Family Simulator]

You open a game called [Zoldyck Family Simulator]. Your goal is to build the Zoldyck family from scratch.

At first, the Zoldyck family is only a small group of scattered assassins.

As a hardcore gamer, you focus on both the family members’ strength and the family’s reputation. At last, after working on it day and night,

finally

The Zoldyck family earns the title [The World’s Number One Assassin Family].

By now, several generations have passed in the game world. You’re gradually getting bored, so you install a mod called [Abundance’s Gift], determined to make the Zoldyck family the best in the world at everything, not just assassination.

Every member of the first generation of Zoldyck descendants born after you install the new mod is exceptionally talented. You’re delighted with them and generously give them all sorts of gifts as encouragement.

But what’s with the new corruption stat that suddenly appeared on the game panels? Why are all the values maxed out?

*

It’s widely believed in the industry that the Zoldyck family is protected by an evil god. Even several heads of the family have admitted as much.

Why only several?

Because they don’t think it’s an evil god at all. They believe it’s a benevolent and generous deity.

The deity favors the Zoldycks.

Every Zoldyck child visits the shrine where the deity is worshipped before formally beginning assassin training, to receive the deity’s blessing.

Young Illumi follows his father’s instructions and enters the shrine. Bright sunlight shines through the colorful stained-glass windows, illuminating the statue of the deity.

“Be devout, Illumi. You must show the deity your devotion,” his father, Silva, says.

The child lifts his head, baring his vulnerable neck.

This is his devotion.

An invisible, icy palm touches his cheek, measuring his neck.

An overwhelming dizziness strikes him, and his will slips beyond his control.

After an unknown amount of time, his father says, “It seems the deity likes you very much.”

There is something subtle in his tone.

Illumi later understands what that subtlety meant. When his younger brother Killua receives his blessing, Illumi watches from the sidelines and almost loses control because of the deity’s favor.
