Days of Seizing Power in Middle-earth [The Lord of the Rings]

[This novel will go premium on the 19th, with a 10,000-word update that day~]

You bound yourself to a romance-obsessed System after dying from overwork.

System: Just max out the important characters’ affection levels and you can return to your original world!

You had no energy to complain about this tired old setup, but you did make one request.

You: There’s one condition.

System: Do you want a beautiful appearance? Don’t worry, your looks are already top-tier. Appearance is the most important thing in romance!

You: ...For my safety, and so I can have a smooth romantic life, I want maxed-out combat ability.

The romance-obsessed System readily agreed.

But when it came online again, you had become Middle-earth’s greatest villain, punching fallen Maiar and kicking Morgoth, while the elves both loved and hated you.

System: (screaming) Aaaaaah, what have you done?! I told you to fall in love, not force yourself on people!

You argue that forcing yourself on someone still counts as love, doesn’t it?

When the System solemnly informs you that you cannot complete the mission and return to your original world this way, it sees your radiant smile as you say, “Compared with going back to the real world to keep working 996, getting crushed by a heartless boss, being leeched off by my family, and getting stabbed in the back, wouldn’t it be much more comfortable to run wild in another world?”

Excerpt One

At the time, Maedhros, son of Feanor, was hanging from a cliff at Morgoth’s mercy, utterly despairing. He quietly awaited his death, but death never came. Instead, a mysterious person appeared. You freed him from his shackles and took the elf away right under Morgoth’s nose.

Later, when Maedhros asked how he could repay you, you smiled slyly, your intentions impossible to read, and said, “Then give yourself to me.”

Maedhros had thought that meeting you was an act of mercy from the Valar. Only later did he realize that it was more like a torment inflicted by fate.

Excerpt Two

Fingon first saw you at a war council. You arrived late, your manner languid, and said, “It’s only Melkor. I can take care of him for you.”

Your arrogance drew all of Fingon’s attention. Suddenly, you turned to him with a smile, but addressed the High King, Fingolfin. “But I have one condition, ”

You pointed at Fingon. “Give him to me as a reward.”

The elves present all wore different expressions. On Fingon’s cousin Maedhros’s face, Fingon saw humiliation.

Xilin transmigrates into an omegaverse world with a setting that combines science fiction and fantasy.

In this future world, immortal elves occupy the ruling class. Humanity’s population once plummeted after a historic plague, bringing the species to the brink of extinction.

The plague did not cause physical suffering in elves, but the virus tormented their souls. The humans who survived, meanwhile, awakened the ability to soothe souls.

Several centuries later, elves lead the development of society. They call themselves humanity’s protectors, but their so-called protection is really just keeping humans like pets.

Every human undergoes repeated examinations and matching assessments from birth. The most thorough examination is conducted during the coming-of-age ceremony. Generally, a human guide has only one ideal match.

Xilin’s identity in this world is that of an ordinary member of the lower classes. On the day of her coming-of-age ceremony, she goes in for her examination, only to see the doctor’s expression change several times.

She sneaks a glance at the screen in front of the doctor.

Number of ideal matches: ?

Xilin: What does that question mark mean?

Doctor: Well... It’s rare, but you seem to be an incredibly rare universal guide.

Xilin: ?

Unlike the elves in fairy tales, untouched by earthly concerns, the elves in this world have stronger emotions than humans, including even darker sides.

“Some elves can live for ages without finding their destined guide, but our meeting was fate.” The platinum-haired elf bends forward slightly, tightly holding Xilin’s hands.

“Elves and humans are meant to share the same fate.” The tall elf embraces her from behind, leaning close.

One elf after another tells her that he is her destined partner.

Enough, she thinks.

At first, Xilin only wanted to live a quiet, ordinary life. After being swept into one emotional whirlpool after another, she finally understands.

If she doesn’t get out now, she’ll be swallowed up by their sticky, overwhelming love.

But when she tries to run away, all she gets in return is their thoughtful, mournful sighs.

He, and that one, and all the others sigh and say, “Are you leaving again, this time? But you can’t.”

Theme: Dare to seek yourself and live a remarkable life
