I Got Scammed by an Enhancement-Type

Hisoka realized he had gained an ardent fan.

Not only had she sat in the front row of the VIP section for several matches in a row, she had also bought every piece of official merchandise featuring him.

So one day, on a whim, Hisoka tossed a playing card filled with murderous intent out of the arena.

She caught it without a wobble.

Hisoka watched as she pressed the card to her chest, cheeks flushed, and said to him:

"I like you."

That very night, she followed Hisoka all the way to the door of his room.

Later, she heard that people called fans who crossed the line like that...

sasaeng fans.

-

Vika Bradley is sharp-tongued, glib, and persuasive at work. A pillar of a money-grubbing company, she has been the top performer year after year.

As a sasaeng fan of Hisoka (a label she herself refuses to accept), no matter how busy work gets, she can still pursue him while juggling her targets.

But in truth, she has a bit of a social disorder. She can't look people in the eye when she speaks, and in everyday life she can barely manage a complete sentence.

There's no helping it. Vika is just an Enhancer who never lies about anything but work.

If she speaks fluently and looks perfectly at ease, she's lying to you.

-

Vika's boss has been somewhat worried about her mental state lately.

Even though they are a shady, money-grubbing organization with a vast range of business, from the royal family to assassin clans, the Hunter Association and the Phantom Troupe, they even fleece visitors to Heaven's Arena.

But they are a company with a conscience! They care a lot about their top salesperson's mental health.

Especially when Vika wears the same placid expression as always, but speaks even more eloquently than before, while her sales figures shoot straight up.

"Vika, are you short on money lately?"

"No."

"Then you don't have to work quite so hard..."

"I'm stanning someone."

Ah, being a fan really does cost a lot...

Later, her boss had to remind her that working too hard wasn't a good thing either. The Zoldyck family, the Phantom Troupe, and the Hunters from the Hunter Association whom she'd conned seemed about ready to come after her.

-

When surrounded by lies, people can't help being drawn to sincerity.

How did a Transmuter get scammed by an Enhancer?

Huh? How come everyone got scammed by her?

[Vika's thoughts: Sure, I'm Hisoka's sasaeng fan, I watch his matches up close, collect all his merchandise, confess to him, contact him privately, work hard at matches so I can keep seeing him, spend a fortune on a custom body pillow, show up at Hisoka's room late at night for no reason and say I want to stay over... But I really don't want to do it with him.]

-

"You will see me.

Through this skin, you will see my soul."

-A wicked, teasing fox-like magician x a cold-faced, deceptively strong-looking, shy rabbit-eared Enhancer

Warning: The heroine likes Hisoka from the start (?). But if someone likes Hisoka, how could she possibly be normal?
