[Western Crossover] After Escaping the Dating Sim, I Met the Arkham Knight

I live inside an adult RPG called Degrees of Lewdity. On my sixteenth birthday, I suddenly gained fragments of memories from other save files. This world was fake. All the bullying, abuse, and humiliation I’d suffered were just scripted events designed to make the game more entertaining. Even after discovering this despairing truth, I couldn’t escape this damn town. I worked desperately to pay off the debts that Bailey, the orphanage director, added to my tab every week. Otherwise, I’d be sold somewhere even darker. Then one day, I noticed that my supposed best friend, Robin, had suddenly changed. He was no longer a faceless NPC who only gave me mechanical responses. He’d become a black-haired, blue-eyed boy. When I was bullied, he taught me how to fight back. Late at night in the storage room, he carefully bandaged my wounds. He was still Robin. He said his name was Jason Todd, and that he came from another world, where he was Batman’s sidekick. “Being good-looking isn’t your fault,” he said in a low voice, wiping the blood off his knuckles. “Those scumbags are the ones at fault.” His soul burned brighter than a flame, and I wanted to keep him with me. But this world wouldn’t treat us kindly. The principal secretly filmed students, the police took bribes and turned a blind eye to crime, and Bailey’s debt would never be paid off. Jason taught me to fight back, but he himself was swallowed by the darkness. One night, he never came back. … I ended up in a place called Arkham. Even with Jason battered and his voice deranged, I recognized him at a glance. When everything was over, Jason stood before that glowing “door” to welcome me. He looked as nervous as he had the first time he gave me a flower crown. Only when I ran to him did I truly understand what he’d once told me: love isn’t desire or pain. It’s someone willing to light a lamp for you in the darkness. This was the happiest day of my life. #Mild religious elements# #Lots of original worldbuilding!!! Not strict canon to the game!# #First-person POV warning# ↑↑↑You can probably tell from the blurb, right? Reader’s guide: 1. Updates whenever inspiration strikes. Jason Todd is seriously underrated on Jinjiang. I couldn’t find anything to read, so I had to write my own. I’ll update when I get inspired. It probably won’t be too long. This time I really did put together a proper outline, ORZ. 2. The female lead is the protagonist of Degrees of Lewdity, an adult text RPG with a very dark and disturbing setting, so there will be a lot of upsetting content! I won’t follow the game exactly, though. There’ll be some original elements. 3. Sorry, but because of the premise, this might not be pure fluff. It may be bittersweet, ORZ. But I swear it’s true love. 4. I’ve joined the Jason Todd OOC crowd too. As for the comics, I’ve only read the Knightfall era and the older issues so far. I know the rest from fanfic. I’ll do my best to catch up while writing, but since I’m writing DC fanfic, cut me some slack. Theme: Broken souls heal each other
