The Fall of the Inca Empire

The Fall of the Inca Empire Deep in the Andes, the powerful and orderly Inca Empire stretches for thousands of miles. The Chaos Sovereign, King Charlie, chooses the illiterate conquistador Pizarro and wields greed as a blade, unleashing a storm of civilizations. One hundred and sixty-eight Spanish soldiers use schemes and firearms to set a deadly trap at Cajamarca and capture the Inca emperor Atahualpa. The dynasty collapses, its treasures are melted down, and its ancient civilization suffers a catastrophe. But King Charlie never foresaw that though the empire had fallen, the spark of its civilization would remain hidden in the mountains. In the east, the Kunlun Dragon watches the game with cold eyes. In Chu, far away, the embroiderer Mei Qin awaits. A fateful game of chess spanning time and space has only just begun. This is not a history of conquest, but an epic of a civilization that gasps for breath among the ruins, is reborn, and never submits.
