The Years I Spent Fixing the City's Bugs

Synopsis Beneath the bustling city’s surface, cracks in the rules lie everywhere. Shen Fei, once a top engineer, suffered a crushing defeat after being framed at work. Now he has a special ability to spot every blind spot in management and every weakness in the system. With no supernatural powers or powerful backers to rely on, he uses only careful reasoning and attention to detail to quietly seal one hidden hazard after another. Negligent property managers, obstructive investors, and the suspicions of those around him mean that even when he gives everything he has, all that’s often left is helplessness and regret. He seeks neither fame nor status, and doesn’t insist that everything turn out perfectly. In the city’s world of interwoven light and shadow, he simply stays true to himself and slowly learns to live with the imperfections of the world. Urban fiction, urban suspense, realistic deduction, high-IQ mind games, human nature in the real world, everyday city life, long-term plotting, self-redemption
