The Choice of Genes

The Choice of Genes [Important Notice: This is a work of purely fictional urban women's coming-of-age literature. All people, experiences, organizations, and events are artistic creations and have no connection to any real person or group. The protagonist's life path is highly unusual and comes at a tremendous personal cost. This story does not encourage or advocate imitation in any way; it is solely a literary exploration of human nature.] I'm Tang Di, a younger daughter who grew up in a sixty-square-meter apartment in Wuhu. Many people believe our fate is written in our genes. It took me a while to understand: What truly determines a life isn't the code we're born with, but the choices I grit my teeth and make each time I'm driven to the brink. This isn't a wish-fulfillment story. It's a path full of scars, with gains and losses, one that cannot be repeated.
