The Divine Altar Against the Current

Before the ancient water god Gonggong died, he used his life's divine power to build the Reverse Flow Divine Altar, sealing away a torrent of foul energy powerful enough to devour the Nine Provinces. Only his direct descendants could disturb the altar's wards. A thousand years pass, and floods plague the riverbanks as the foul torrent secretly eats away at the land. Jiang Su, a boy born in a riverside fishing village, has carried an ancestral jade pendant bearing a dragon pattern since childhood. During a flood, he accidentally awakens the incomplete water god bloodline within him and learns that his parents disappeared while searching for the altar, and that the floods are connected to the weakening seal on the Reverse Flow Divine Altar. To end the calamities and find his parents, Jiang Su sets out alone to seek the altar. Along the way, he meets a clan heir sworn to guard it, a wandering physician versed in ancient secrets, and a female constable investigating the conspiracy behind the floods. Together, they venture into underwater tombs and climb the ruins of shattered mountains, repeatedly thwarting wicked forces coveting the altar's power. Gradually, they uncover the truth: the seal is not merely a prison for the foul energy, but a sacrificial array left by the ancient gods. Jiang Su's bloodline was never the key to opening it. He is the final sacrifice needed to end the torrent. At last, everyone gathers at the Reverse Flow Divine Altar. Jiang Su uses the resonance of his bloodline to turn the waters back, shattering a thousand-year fate, restoring the seal, and bringing peace to the Nine Provinces.
