Apocalypse,

When heaven and earth first took shape, the Heavenly Dao was established to maintain balance among the Three Realms. Those who cultivate immortality follow the path from Qi Refining and Foundation Establishment to Golden Core, Nascent Soul, Deity Transformation, Body Integration, Mahayana, and finally Tribulation Transcendence, seeking eternal life and the Great Dao, and hoping one day to ascend to the Immortal Realm and escape the cycle of reincarnation. But over countless ages, the old Heavenly Dao has grown rigid and its rules have fallen out of balance. Rifts have opened throughout the Three Realms, and demonic energy has crept in. The mortal realm's spiritual veins are drying up, the Immortal Realm has lost control of its authority, and the demons are being driven from their habitats. A crisis that could destroy everything is quietly brewing. Only the legendary Apocalypse, which descends once every million years, can reshape the order of the Heavenly Dao and restore the spiritual source of the Three Realms. Its arrival hinges on an ancient divine artifact, the Apocalypse Jade, and the chosen one it selects, the Bearer of the Apocalypse.

The Qingyun Sect of the mortal realm is the foremost orthodox sect. Its disciples are as numerous as the clouds, yet it harbors secrets no one knows. Shen Qingci, an outer-sect disciple, was an orphan from humble origins. With mediocre aptitude, he was shunned within the sect. But during an expedition down the mountain, he stumbled upon half of a smooth, warm jade pendant beneath Bone-Gazing Cliff. It was a fragment of the Apocalypse Jade. Once the pendant entered his body, it awakened a special spiritual root that had lain dormant within him. Though his cultivation advanced slowly, he could sense the scattered energy of the Apocalypse between heaven and earth, and even resonate with the auras of the demon and devil races. This left him caught between the forces of good and evil.
