The Goddess of the Luo River,

After Pangu created Heaven and Earth and perished, his left eye became the sun and his right eye the moon. His vital energy gave rise to the Three Pure Ones: the Celestial Worthy of Primordial Beginning, the Celestial Worthy of Numinous Treasure, and the Celestial Worthy of the Way and Its Virtue. His turbid energy formed the Demon Ancestor, the Heartslaying Mad Demon; his bone spurs gave birth to the Demon Ancestor, the Spirit Celestial Demon; and his shadow became the Ghost Ancestor, the Ninefold Netherworld Sacred Sect. On the banks of the Luo River, Fuxi’s daughter Mifei, the Goddess of the Luo River, came into being with the river’s spirit essence. She took charge of the Luo River Divine Pendant, which sustained the spiritual veins of the Three Realms.

A thousand years later, the pendant was stolen, the Luo River ran dry, and the spiritual veins of the Three Realms fell into disarray. The Jade Emperor, head of the Four Imperial Sovereigns, ordered Yang Jian and Nezha to investigate. At the scene, however, they found the demon clan’s Soul-Eroding Mark. The Demon Ancestor, the Heartslaying Mad Demon, ordered his son, the Bloodsword Demon, to assemble an army of asuras and seize the pendant, hoping to restart the chaos of creation. The Demon Ancestor, the Spirit Celestial Demon, sent Lord Cangwu to persuade the Goddess of the Luo River, promising to help her recover the pendant in exchange for the river’s spiritual source.

The Goddess of the Luo River led the Ten Immortals of the Luo River, the male immortals Hebo, Lord Tushan, Lord Xuanbing, Moyuan, and Canglan, and the female immortals Lady Xiang, Luo Wei, Shui Linglong, Lingxi, and Suyin, in pursuit of the truth. Along the way, Hou Yi, once married to Luo Pin, came to their aid, while Piaomiao Wuying, a disciple of the Ghost Ancestor, tried to kill them. The Queen Mother of the West sent the Nine Heavens Mystical Maiden and her attendants Yunu, Wanhua, and Qinglan, to reinforce them. Houtu, the Earthly Sovereign, used the power of the land to protect the foundations of the Luo River.

The Three Pure Ones held the line at the Lingxiao Palace, while the Ancient Buddha Dipankara sent the Five Directional Buddhas, including Shakyamuni and Amitabha, to guard the Western Heaven. The demon general Blood Rakshasa ambushed Nezha and trapped him, but Yang Jian broke through the formation with guidance from the Primordial Lord of the Dipper. The demon clan’s Azure-Eyed Fox Lord stole the pendant to keep it for himself, only to be gravely wounded by the water swords the Goddess of the Luo River conjured with her Startling Swan Dance. Piaomiao Wuying sent a vast army of the netherworld to attack, and Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva led the Ten Kings of Hell to stop them.
