The Banished Immortal

In the 37,000th year of the Primordial Immortal Realm, the theft of the Immortal-Suppressing Seal threw the spiritual energy of the Three Realms into chaos and sent the Immortal Court into an uproar. Enraged, the Heavenly Emperor personally selected ten powerful High Immortals to investigate the case, unaware that it was a carefully plotted conspiracy. The mastermind used ancient dark arts to fabricate evidence, laying all the blame for the theft on the ten High Immortals. Deceived by the sorcery and pressured by his ministers, the Heavenly Emperor could not bring himself to execute these meritorious servants, but had no choice but to strip them of their immortal bones, drain their immortal essence, and banish them to the mortal realm forever. These ten High Immortals were the finest in their respective fields. Their banishment not only weakened the Immortal Court but quietly reshaped the balance of power across the Three Realms.

The mortal world, Canglan, was poor in spiritual energy, and the path of cultivation there was far harder than in the Immortal Realm. The ten banished immortals scattered across Canglan. Some were reborn as mortal infants; others possessed people on the brink of death. They had all lost their memories of the Immortal Realm, retaining only a faint trace of immortal essence concealed deep within their souls. As they endured life, aging, sickness, death, joy, sorrow, and separation in the mortal world, that remnant gradually awakened through hardship and trials, stirring the cultivation roots hidden within them.
