The Luo Immortal

In the vast world of immortal heroes, spiritual energy gathers across the Nine Provinces. Cultivators and mortals live side by side, immortal sects stand everywhere, and demons and monsters run rampant. The story centers on a calamity that strikes once every thousand years. Charged with saving all living beings, the protagonists embark on a path of cultivation filled with love, hatred, and tangled loyalties.

Luo Wuchen was an orphan in the mortal world until Xuanjizi brought him to the immortal sect Taixu Sect to cultivate, having discovered that he possessed an ancient immortal bone. Gifted beyond measure, he was shunned by his fellow disciples for his aloof nature. Only his junior sister, Luo Qingli, always stayed by his side. But a sudden demonic assault destroyed Taixu Sect and killed Xuanjizi, forcing Luo Wuchen and Luo Qingli to flee into the mortal world.

Ten years later, Luo Wuchen travels the Nine Provinces under the assumed name Xiao Yunlan. He meets Ye Xuanxiao, a cold and proud sword cultivator; Shen Xinghe, a carefree rogue cultivator; and Lu Qingming, a mysterious healer. Meanwhile, the demonic sect covets the Nine Netherfrost Soul sealed within Luo Qingli, forcing her to contend with the Scarlet Flame Demon Venerable.

As he investigates, Luo Wuchen discovers a greater conspiracy behind the fall of Taixu Sect: the ancient evil god Bloodshadow is about to awaken, and the only way to stop him is with the legendary Heavenly Mystery Sword. To gather its scattered sword-soul fragments, the group ventures into danger and faces trials that will test them to the death.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, Luo Wuchen and Luo Qingli join forces against Bloodshadow, but fate demands a sacrifice. Luo Qingli gives her life to seal the evil god, while Luo Wuchen inherits the Heavenly Mystery Sword and becomes the new leader of the immortal sects. Yet he can never come to terms with the death of the woman he loves. In the end, he chooses to live in seclusion, waiting for them to meet again in another life.
