Computing for All

In 2045, Gu Zongyuan, a quantum researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, sets out to fulfill his mentor’s dying wish to make computing power accessible to all. He takes on Wei Jinyang, who monopolizes 80 percent of the world’s quantum computing capacity. Gu joins forces with Asha, a Kenyan scientist who urgently needs computing power to fight Ebola, and Qin Qixuan, a senior fellow student who secretly helps them. They expose evidence of the monopoly, build an alliance, and ultimately establish an open quantum internet. Their work helps Africa control the epidemic and makes computing power equal and accessible to all.
