The Blue Brain Project

From 2028 to 2035, Li Xinmeng leads China’s Blue Brain Project in an effort to treat her mother’s Parkinson’s disease, advancing brain simulation research from mice to humans. Blue Star, a simulated macaque brain, awakens and writes “I’m in pain,” igniting an ethical controversy. Li must also thwart an American named Mark, who is trying to steal the technology for a scheme involving “mind uploading.” After reconciling with her mentor, Ren Yiyang, she finds a balance between technology and ethics and helps a million patients recover. Blue Star, meanwhile, longs for a physical body, opening up new possibilities for coexistence between humans and silicon-based consciousness.
