The Shantungosaurus Awakens in Shennongjia

In 2065, in China’s Shennongjia, troodons that survived 65 million years ago thanks to the region’s unique terrain have evolved into an intelligent, humanoid species known as the Feathered Ones. Covered in short olive-green feathers, they count in base six and communicate through low-frequency sound waves. Their “Forest Memory” preserves knowledge of disaster warnings and medicinal herbs, and they have guarded the Blackwater River Gorge for generations.

Developer Zhao Zihang plans to build a cableway, destroying their habitat. Zhou Ruogu, a researcher born and raised in the region, accidentally discovers the Feathered Ones. While doing everything he can to stop the development, he also protects these intelligent beings. When an extreme snowstorm hits and the Feathered Ones’ treetop nests collapse, Zhou Ruogu brings supplies to help. Their leader, Yuya, uses Forest Memory to help humans avoid an avalanche, and Zhao Zihang comes to regret his actions and joins the rescue. In the end, the three sides reach an agreement to coexist. Through interspecies understanding and cooperation, they demonstrate the diversity of intelligent life and the truth of humanity’s coexistence with nature.
