The Cult of Science

This book is too childish in terms of historical setting. It is written in a Western medieval setting, but the author has no basic understanding of feudal relations. It says "The following offends the first", so the princess asked her knights to capture a viscount, WTF? Under the enfeoffment system, nobles were only responsible to the immediate monarch. The same was true for China's Zhou Dynasty or Japan's Warring States Period. It was impossible for a princess of the kingdom to jump over the hierarchy to arrest a viscount - the arrest should be through a higher-level lord such as a duke or earl. Science is an orderly knowledge system based on testable explanations and predictions about the form and organization of objective things. It is knowledge that has been systematized and formulated. Therefore, magic itself is science.
