Being a Dog for Myself in a Parallel Universe

Only people certified as [Successful Citizens] can receive a free kitten from the government, so he works diligently and vows to buy his cat the best food, litter, and toys!

After earning the title of "Best Cat Butler of the Century," the pet distribution office promises him the rarest cat of all.

Excitedly, Jiao Fusong opens the pet capsule and finds a black-and-white cat sprawled out like a lord. They stare at each other for a moment, then the cat raises a paw.

Three days later, a friend comes over and gapes at the wrecked house. "Have you developed a mental disorder?"

"Not yet." Jiao Fusong is locked in a fierce tussle with the cow cat, sounding utterly hopeless. "But I'm getting there."

Ever since he got Momo, Jiao Fusong's quality of life has plummeted. Every day, he looks around the battlefield that is his home and contemplates life.

The government says that if he keeps living in such a bare, miserable home, they'll take Momo back.

Jiao Fusong nearly bursts into tears. Looking at the scratches covering his arm, he asks with heartfelt sincerity, "Could you take him back right now?"

The night he finally proves that both he and the cat are worse off together, and the government approves their breakup papers, Jiao Fusong transmigrates.

And turns into a Beagle.

After accepting the bizarre fact that another version of himself in a parallel universe lives in a world of only cats or dogs, and that he himself has become the other one's cat or dog, Jiao Fusong and Mo Yunbai hit it off and decide to defy the laws of space and time to meet.

Whether they feel a kindred bond with their alternate selves or just want to beat each other up in person to vent their anger remains to be seen.

In any case, after Mo Yunbai passes through the portal and arrives on the other side, he turns into a cow cat again, and his body feels painfully out of place.

He has a bad feeling and calls out, "Jiao Fusong, where are you?"

A familiar voice answers from inside his body: "Huh? I'm right here, "

The two, both familiar with the human body, fall silent together. Even as cats, they reach the same conclusion.

The Beagle's soul has entered the cow cat's body.
