(I'll probably start this after finishing the quick transmigration story, but my drawing has improved so much that I couldn't resist posting it for everyone to admire the cover, ovo.)
[Lazy emperor who transmigrates into the modern world x short-tempered, gorgeous workaholic exorcist]
Guan Xu was a foolish emperor all his life. After enduring foreign invasions, years of famine, and a rebellion, he finally managed to die in his bed on the throne.
He never expected to open his eyes a thousand years later, in a world where the dynasty was gone, the people lived in peace and happiness, and all kinds of strange, convenient gadgets existed.
The emperor was delighted and turned over to sleep for another thousand years. But someone kicked open his coffin lid, and a long-haired man holding a peachwood sword came straight for his head.
Guan Xu was horrified. He couldn't beat the man, and after being chased all the way out of the imperial mausoleum, the entire space collapsed just as he stepped outside. A blood-red formation appeared. After a violent tremor, a gigantic hand emerged from the sky, and countless evil spirits fled in the chaos, throwing the world into turmoil.
Song Yuan glared darkly as he held his sword to Guan Xu's neck and snarled, "You should have been reduced to ashes!"
Guan Xu: Huh???
What crime, pray tell, has this emperor committed?!
*
After disrupting the Soul-Locking Formation, Guan Xu was forced to sign a spiritual contract with Song Yuan. His retirement was over, and now he had to follow the other man around every day, catching ghosts and demons.
Guan Xu: Your exorcist business covers a lot of ground, doesn't it?
Song Yuan: Who do you think is the reason for that?
Guan Xu looked away. "Still, you can't work all year without a break."
Song Yuan: Exorcists have short lifespans. I have to finish my assignments before I die.
Guan Xu: In that case, I'll find you a match so you can pass on in peace...
The gorgeous exorcist flew into a rage. "Want me to erase your spirit first, if you don't stop talking?"
"I was just saying," Guan Xu said, raising his hands. Once Song Yuan had calmed down, he smiled. "...I don't want to die with you, either."
*
But when Song Yuan's life really was hanging by a thread and their spiritual contract was about to dissolve, the normally lazy emperor disregarded layer upon layer of seals and made his way, drenched in blood, to the depths of the underworld. His dirty hand trembled as it clutched the other's pristine robe, his expression sinister and crazed.
Their dangling strands of hair intertwined, weaving themselves into matching love knots, identical to the one the emperor kept close to his heart.
"I've waited a thousand years for you..." the fully restored Ghost King murmured, holding the pale figure fast in his arms.
You were the one I personally brought down to the mortal realm to undergo your tribulation.
"I won't let you die."
A guide for our CEO readers, OvO:
* It's an age-gap romance with the younger one on top! Sweet and satisfying, with a little angst here and there for fun (looking away).
* The one on the bottom doesn't start out trying to kill the one on top. The couple are mutually in love, just teasing and flirting with each other!!
