Cormac is a deserter.
When darkness devoured his world, he ran away.
He fled to Gotham in another world, where he keeps a cat, a dog, and six birds, pretends to be deaf and blind, and lives in peaceful seclusion.
Unfortunately, his little animals aren't very cooperative.
A few short scenes:
1
Surrounded by vampires, Nightwing's vision darkens. He forces a smile and points his escrima stick at his temple.
He'd rather die than kill everyone like he did in another world.
A calico cat suddenly drops from the sky and delivers a flying kick, sending the Vampire Queen straight into a wall, where she gets stuck fast.
Nightwing: ?
2
Jason is cornered by assassins, their gleaming white blades raised high.
A red-headed bird ball suddenly drops down, pulls a ridiculous toy gun from behind its back, and aims it at everyone.
"Bang, bang, bang, bang!"
"Chirp, chirp! Do you like my new toy, you scumbags?"
Under the overwhelming firepower, the assassins flee with their hands over their heads.
Jason: ??

Arkham erupts into chaos once again. After being beaten by a mob, Batman is lifted high by Bane.
"Bang!"
A green bird ball with two blades strapped to its back charges out and transforms into a man over two meters tall. His twin blades chop off Bane's arms.
The towering tyrant walks up to Batman and looks down at him.
"You're shorter than I expected."
Batman: …
Just as the Batfamily is in chaos, the black sludge returns with the nightmares of the past.
A queen, blinded by thorns and bound to her throne, lets out a pained wail as she drags one warrior after another into despair.
A beautiful golden angel is trapped by wings nailed to the wall, blood and tears forever streaming down his face as he lures pilgrims into becoming his nourishment...
It turns out that the Batfamily is still the Batfamily. He's not the only one pretending to be deaf and blind.
A black shadow wraps around him and becomes a suit. The roar of a motorcycle echoes between the high-rises.
This time, he won't run away again.
Notes:
1. The timeline is extremely chaotic for plot reasons, and there are lots of original settings and a mix of different canons.
2. His previous world wasn't a reversed timeline. The characters were adults, but there were lots of other original settings.
3. The protagonist has no romantic pairing, but everyone shares a close bond and helps one another heal. Canon pairings may be broken up, and some strange pairings may appear.
4. The early part is mostly family fun, while the later part focuses on dark angst and fighting. (Settle internal conflicts first, then face the outside world together?)
5. OOC warning.
Theme: Failure isn't scary. As long as you don't give up, you can succeed.
