I Think I'm Falling in Love Again [Western Crossover]

Also known as "Clark, Did Your Business Trip Take You to Another Planet?"

Superman is the love interest. Blurb is tentative.

[I kept saving drafts, and this idea came to me. I'll go study some accounting in more depth first.]

Told in third person.

My name is Jane Ning. A few months ago, I met a handsome young man in the countryside, and we soon fell in love. He said he worked at the Daily Planet, and as it happened, I was going to work as an accountant at a company in Metropolis. Our jobs were just across the street from each other, so we could be lovey-dovey after work every day.

To be honest, this shy and gentle farm boy was so considerate, and he smelled like wheat. He won over my cold heart just like that.

We were about to get married when one day my boyfriend said he had to go save the world, then disappeared without a word.

He dumped me...

He actually dared to dump me!

You glasses-wearing jerk, how dare you dump me? Just you wait!

I forgot to mention that I work as an accountant for Lex Luthor. I was already in a bad mood after getting dumped, and Luthor kept watching me audit the books, asking how much of a budget we'd need to take down Superman.

These heartless bosses want to pay peanuts and still expect the monkeys to fish for the moon?

I just said, "Could you start by booking me a luxurious tomb? When Superman beats me up, I want the pink room with the bows."

Luthor must be crazy. I can calculate how much money it would take to fight Superman, but why can't I calculate the odds that I'm Superman's girlfriend?
