Building the Strongest Manga Family

Bian Yuan transmigrated into a comic set in a modern city plagued by the supernatural. He had planned to end his own life, but instead got bound to the Strongest Clan System.

"I'll help you build the most powerful clan in the cultivation world... What the hell! Why have I transmigrated into a city full of supernatural horrors?!"

The System, which had landed in the wrong world, and Bian Yuan stared at each other. In the end, they hit it off and decided to give things a trial run.

Who would have thought that a setup full of bugs, combining a cultivation clan with modern supernatural horrors, would actually work?!

As a popular hit comic of the year, The Immortal and the Weird was famous for its utterly despair-inducing supernatural world.

Supernatural horrors ran rampant through the cities, and evil gods and monstrous immortals were everywhere. People could only fuse with these horrors to fight them, but doing so corrupted their minds, eventually driving them mad and destroying them.

Fans complained: "I see the weird, but where are the immortals? What does this comic have to do with cultivation at all?"

Given the comic's dark worldview, an ending where everyone died would hardly have been surprising.

That was, until a whole cast of new characters made their dazzling debut:

A blindfolded boy with white silk over his eyes saw through the rules governing the horrors. A cool, white-clad woman with a sword shattered a haunted realm with a single strike. A gentle, refined gentleman cradling an ancient zither played clear, soul-stirring notes...

They claimed to be from a cultivation clan a thousand years in the past. Having arrived in this world by accident, they were determined to save the people and set things right.

They told everyone that cultivation did not require people to abandon their reason and descend into madness, and that true immortals and gods were not sinister monsters.

A world long sick with decay gradually came back to life. People who had grown numb slowly regained the dignity of being human. At last, they understood:

What is an immortal? One who defies Heaven to uphold the righteous path.

Beyond the world, the comic's forum was going crazy too.

[Ahhh, wasn't this supposed to be a modern supernatural horror comic? Why are cultivators showing up?!]

But this world where incompatible plugins had somehow been installed...

Was kind of addictive?

Before you read:

1. I wanted to do some proper cultivation in a supernatural horror world, so I wrote this to scratch my own itch.

2. The secret identities act out a parental romance, but the protagonist has no love interest.

3. The blurb may be revised, but the core idea won't change.

Theme: There is always hope.
