I Made the Clown Cry with Infinite Save-Scumming

When Morse was captured by the Joker and taken to be used as fireworks, his long-overdue transmigrator golden finger finally awakened: infinite save points.

He quickly loaded a save and took another route, thinking he could avoid the Joker this time. But before long, he was captured again.

Morse: "?" Is he hunting me down?

Meanwhile, the Joker was just setting off fireworks for Little Batsy as usual. He never expected to blink and find himself back in Arkham.

The Joker: "?"

Was the little toy he'd picked a superpowered being? Was some random passing hero trying to save him? The one who stepped in couldn't possibly be God, could it?

Intrigued, the Joker kept going after him, until his seventh return to Arkham finally broke him.

He'd escaped Arkham over and over until he was about to throw up!

Of course, when he got to enjoy the full two-hour experience of getting pummeled by a Batman who had reloaded eleven times, he finally realized that making him repeat the same route was the gentlest option.

Everyone in Arkham knew the Joker had been acting even crazier lately. After getting beaten up during a routine escape attempt, the Prince of Crime in Gotham had been listless every day and hadn't plotted a single scheme for an entire month!

At first, the supervillains were all curious about what the Joker had gone through. Then they started trying to break out and cause trouble themselves...

Whenever they tried to cause trouble, they got trapped repeating the stretch of time it took to escape Arkham over and over. It wore them down until they were utterly calm and no longer wanted to do anything bad!

Some time later, the Bat-family vigilantes, now with far less crime to deal with, also began to worry.

At some point, whenever they tried to do anything dangerous, they would get stuck at home, unable to leave, over and over and over...

Morse: Why does my family always come home covered in injuries? I'll reload, reload, reload! This time I'll get to the bottom of it!

A note before you read:

Bat-kid fiction. The early chapters put all kinds of villains through the wringer. Of course, the superheroes also get a little sweet torment now and then. A husky might knock you flying, but it loves you.

Theme: Light will ultimately triumph over evil.
