Tales of the Xianfeng Police Station

[For readers familiar with the Qing Dynasty, note that this contains lots of dark humor. Qing transmigration was chosen because it has no direct dynasty label.]

[The Xianfeng County in this story has nothing to do with the real Xianfeng County. Xianfeng is just an era name used for a joke.]

The story takes place in a county called "Xianfeng." The county has a bureau chief, Ma, who has taken bullets and gone down the Yellow River. Ma has an equal-ranking colleague, Sister Lan, who fled from the capital. Together, they are the "Tongzhi" of Xianfeng County.

Ma is generous and kind, with a total of 55 adopted sons and daughters, all cats and dogs. The police station uses the advanced codename system of internet companies, so everyone must be referred to by a codename, regardless of gender. If anyone happens to share a name, well, nobody does for now.

There is also Luojia Village under Xianfeng County's jurisdiction, and it has plenty of people. They gossip all the way from the east end of the village to the west. Even if a baby is born in the village, everyone has to clear their schedules and rush over to the family home to join the festivities.
