Synopsis
[Will start posting when this reaches 100 collections. The full manuscript is finished and saved.]
Ying Xu searches for the "great fortune that moves heaven and earth" and finally finds Lu Xiuyuan, the protagonist of this world, battered and bruised in a ruined temple. With a thunderclap, Ying Xu remembers what happened before he transmigrated: he took a commission on Xianyu to ghostwrite a graduation project. Not only did the client refuse to pay the balance, they also sent him a TXT file, apparently by mistake.
Ying Xu clicked it open and was instantly traumatized by the screenful of lurid scenes. Even while reminding the client to confirm receipt, he left a review: "You made it to the Heavenly Dao, and this is how you die? Dumbass author, dumbass story."
"If you think you can do better, go ahead and try. Talking tough after you've gotten off is easy." My apologies. The client was the author.
So Ying Xu really did try. He transmigrated into the very novel he'd been cursing, becoming the final villain "girl" who would be screwed to death by the male lead, Lu Xiuyuan. Yes, as this was a cultivation-leveling story, the Heavenly Dao of this world was naturally the villain, and a villain who doubled as the harem's plaything.
Now Ying Xu, a man, is the unlucky bastard who was transmigrated at the author's command. He's taken over the role, along with his CAD software, drawing tablet, and unclaimed final draft. Before his memories return, he diligently starts from scratch, building models and extracting assets. No, wait, serving as the Heavenly Dao. He has no idea that the world is about to be turned upside down.
Here's the problem: as the Heavenly Dao, Ying Xu should kill Lu Xiuyuan before he grows stronger, getting rid of this guy who breaks the program and has his eye on him. Ying Xu tightens his grip on the Heavenly Dao ruler and approaches the man on his last legs, but what comes out of his mouth is:
"You're acting terribly."
Ying Xu recites the original villain's line. He feels the immense pressure of the author's laws bearing down on him, his face dark as water, but he cannot lay a hand on Lu Xiuyuan. Meanwhile, Lu Xiuyuan grips the banner-spear in his hand and struggles to his feet.
Lu Xiuyuan looks at the young man with his displeasure written all over his face. His lips move, and he swings his sword, trying to knock the Heavenly Dao ruler from Ying Xu's loose grip. But his will cannot overcome his grievous injuries. As soon as his sword touches the edge of the ruler, he collapses.
Before plunging into darkness, Lu Xiuyuan sees the cold glint along the ruler's edge, and the ancient ruler reflecting the blurred face of the statue in the ruined temple.
In his daze, Lu Xiuyuan feels as if the weathered statue is gradually transforming into the figure of the young man before him. Ha. Who would have thought that even a fugitive like him could provoke a god?
Ying Xu watches Lu Xiuyuan pass out in frustration. The Heavenly Dao ruler he touched falls to the ground. The laws are pressing down on Ying Xu, the villain temporarily entrusted with Lu Xiuyuan's treasure. He can't erase Lu Xiuyuan.
Ying Xu sneers and picks up the ruler. If he doesn't fight the heavens, is he supposed to cling to the protagonist and get screwed to death? He saw the look in the protagonist's eyes just now. It was more than frustration.
There are plenty of ways to fix a bug in this world. Lu Xiuyuan, we'll see each other again. The road is long.
[Excerpt]
This is the most desolate place in the Illusory Color Realm. The ceaseless winds of Peizhi Continent howl across the cracked yellow earth. This is Lu Xiuyuan's home. Eighteen years ago, the Roaring Camp found him in the river and raised him.
"Those damn birds are back!" someone cursed. A black shadow immediately shot past and soared into the sky. It was Lu Xiuyuan.
Lu Xiuyuan pressed his palms together and formed a seal. "Perfect timing. I was just about to refine meteorite iron and needed a fire."
Facing a dense swarm of Golden Pond Flame Sparrows, Lu Xiuyuan narrowed his eyes and gauged their distance. The moment they entered range, he flipped both hands. A flash of lightning streaked across the sky.
Centered on Lu Xiuyuan, lightning spread through the air, forming a formation that trapped the Golden Pond Flame Sparrows completely. Lu Xiuyuan landed on the ground and said to the chief, "Uncle Zhao, toss in the rare earth. Then we can..."
Lu Xiuyuan suddenly stopped. "Uncle Zhao, why has it gotten so quiet?"
The next instant, Lu Xiuyuan realized in horror that the ceaseless wind had stopped!
Suddenly, the sky and earth spun. Everyone cried out and had no choice but to throw themselves onto the ground. Lu Xiuyuan bent down and watched the Golden Pond Flame Sparrows in midair shriek and try to escape, only to be twisted into a mass and fall as red rain.
Two drops of blood dripped onto Lu Xiuyuan's face, making him blink. His mind couldn't process the strange sight before him. But the chief quickly understood. "This is bad. It's an 'Erasure'! Everyone, gather together!"
Erasure moved far faster than the people of Roaring Camp could run. One man was only a little slower than the others, but his figure gradually faded and grew thin. Frozen in an expression of terror, he was wiped away by an invisible hand. The man just ahead of him stepped into empty space and disappeared outright.
Lu Xiuyuan stood beside the chief. "Everyone, hurry over here. I can..."
Before he could finish, the chief grabbed him. "Little Lu, run! There's no way to resist it."
The chief stared into the distance, his eyes nearly bursting with rage. Beyond them stood green mountains, with three-dimensional flowers and grass. On the Roaring Camp's side, everything was desolate and flat. If they could just cross those mountains...
With a furious roar, the chief snatched up his axe. It was the only mountain-splitting axe in Roaring Camp, said to be capable of cleaving mountains. Now, with the chief's life-risking blow, the legend became reality.
The chief leapt high into the air. The axe, infused with his life force, shed its rust and shone with golden light, giving birth to a law. This law was called Revision. An irresistible law cleaved the green mountains a thousand miles away and hacked away the desolate land stretching for ten thousand miles.
A thunderclap shook heaven and earth. The mountains split open, and the desolation disappeared. But the resistance made the world tremble even more violently. The weak were shaken to the ground, never to rise again.
The chief fell heavily and used his final breath to tell everyone, "Run! Hurry and run!"
Without hesitation, Lu Xiuyuan gathered the survivors nearby and raced with all his might toward the narrow path the chief had opened with his life. Just as he drew closer to the slit in the sky, almost through the mountains, something unexpected happened.
"Erase everything? Understood." A cold female voice.
"Memory's running out. Expand the range." A calm male voice.
A curtain of light descended from the sky and landed directly on the mountain peak. The narrow opening between the mountains began to close under the descending light, trembling as it did. Lu Xiuyuan gritted his teeth, his eyes bleeding. He nimbly dodged every falling rock, determined to escape before the gap closed.
"Hold on!" Blood blurred Lu Xiuyuan's vision. He couldn't feel the weight of the people linked to him growing lighter. His mind held only the thin, ever-narrowing line of white light. "Get through, and we'll all survive!"
Before the mountain pass closed, Lu Xiuyuan, covered in blood, escaped alone. Behind him, the curtain of light fell completely. The earth collapsed, exposing the world below, and Roaring Camp vanished entirely.
Lu Xiuyuan struggled to open his eyes and called out to the survivors he thought were with him. "Everyone, we're alive..." Then he saw the world beyond Roaring Camp.
Countless similar mountains were collapsing.
Several rivers poured down from the upper realm.
Birds and beasts wailed as they twisted and disappeared.
There was no one behind Lu Xiuyuan.
"We survived..." With Lu Xiuyuan's weak, despairing voice, his strength gave out. He fell unwillingly alongside the shattered mountains and rivers, passing through the seventeen layers of Peizhi Continent, from life into stillness, and into the legendary Guixu Realm, from which none returned.
The mountains crumbled, the rivers broke apart and collided. The enormous rumbling across Peizhi Continent awakened Ying Xu from his slumber.
Kuidar, who had been running all this time while he slept, turned as if sensing something and watched Hua help Ying Xu up.
Ying Xu pushed Hua away, his own drawing tablet, and looked at Kuidar, or rather, CUDA. "How long was I asleep?"
Kuidar answered without hesitation. "Five hundred years here."
As if hearing some absurd fantasy, Ying Xu choked and began coughing violently. "You ran smoothly for five hundred years?"
"I've reached my limit now." As Ying Xu instinctively opened the control panel, Kuidar watched him. "So I just deleted some unimportant scenes and characters."
Ying Xu didn't respond. He frowned. Peizhi Continent was red all over, and the graphics card had reached its limit, proving it had indeed been running for a long time. If this were real life, Ying Xu's computer could already be frying eggs.
"You should have woken me sooner." Ying Xu's voice was displeased.
"You'd only have done the same thing if you were awake. Optimization takes a long time." Kuidar brought up the model of all Peizhi Continent. "The plan back then was a failure. These people still haven't learned to lighten your load. They did create a pair of redundant pieces of junk, though."
Ying Xu didn't reply, because Kuidar was right. Just as Ying Xu was about to empty the recycle bin, inspiration struck. He saw a string of bugs. "What's this?"
Wasn't that just the top layer? Could Photoshop and AI really spawn a massive bug that could trigger a chain reaction and crash other logic software? Ying Xu's teeth ached at the thought, and he quickly tracked the bug's path.
It was in the recycle bin.
In the Guixu Realm, Lu Xiuyuan struggled to open his eyes. Before him lay shattered fragments of land.
