Deng Xujiu: A symbiotic being of poppies and mirrors

· Outward appearance (ages 19-28): He has a beauty untouched by time, but the clearest eyes conceal the deepest danger. He seems fragile and breakable, but is in fact a predator in careful disguise.

· Inner nature: Deng Xujiu's "evil" doesn't come from madness, but from an extreme, icy "rationality." He lacks empathy and sees the human world as one vast observational experiment. To him, killing someone is no different from snapping a flower or wiping down a vessel. Both are done out of "necessity" or "a passing whim." What he enjoys isn't the act of killing itself, but manipulating other people's emotions and watching a soul suffer for him, become fascinated with him.

Song Wangci: The paradox of saint and sinner

· Outward appearance (ages 25-34): From a young police officer with ideals and little experience to a man whose brows are etched with exhaustion and obsession nine years later. The only thing that never changes is the tenderness mixed with pain in his gaze whenever he looks at Deng Xujiu.

· Inner nature: His love is both a faith and evidence of his guilt. From his initial "I don't believe you would kill anyone" to his later "Even if you killed someone, I would still save you," his love has long crossed the boundaries of justice. He uses his connections and forges letters of forgiveness. Every step betrays his oath, and every step sinks him deeper into the swamp called Deng Xujiu. His greatest torment is watching himself fall, fully aware of what he is doing.

When the fates of these two characters intertwine, the story begins. Their first official confrontation takes place in a place rich with symbolism: the prison visitation room.

Theme: Waaah, Xu Xu, you're so pitiful, waaah!
