Xu Heng is a feared young lord of the demon clan, with a nasty disposition and a deceitful, scheming nature. In her spare time, she does little but tend her flowers and plants and mourn her dead beloved.

One day, she acquires a divine treasure: Dreaming Herb. If you fall asleep with it, you'll dream of the person you most wish to see.

She happily follows the instructions, but instead of seeing her beloved, she meets a stranger: Shen Lingyu, the young lord of the Kunlun Immortal Sect.

In their dream, they indulge in carnal pleasures together, lost in a sea of passion and desire.

When she wakes, Xu Heng grows curious. That very night, she descends the mountain, disrupting the mortal world's order along the way, and kidnaps Shen Lingyu

as a substitute for her beloved.

After a while, she loses interest.

"Let's end this."

After one tender encounter, she gets dressed, wipes her hands, leaves him a perfunctory farewell letter, and walks away without looking back.

Wait, why should it be like this?

Shen Lingyu thinks furiously.

He can overlook her treating him as a replacement for someone else, but he can't accept her playing with his body and feelings, then casually walking away and leaving him alone, unable to escape his desire!

She can't do this!

And she mustn't!

He laughs angrily, sword in hand, and storms into the demon realm. With unhurried ease, he pulls her into his arms and grips her face with long fingers, forcing her to look at him.

"Why did you stop? Was there something I didn't imitate well enough?"

He takes her hand and presses it to his heart, his voice hoarse. "Don't demons like to feed on human emotions? I have more than enough love for you to feed on for the rest of your life."

"So please keep deceiving me."

Even if your love is false, we'll be entangled with each other for all eternity.

It takes her a long time to realize that no matter how many twists and turns fate brings, the red thread between them has never fully snapped.
