Us at Dusk

Blurb: (Sorry for reusing an old abandoned story idea Orz)

Two years into their marriage, her husband died.

At the funeral, Lin Jiashan saw her husband's son from his previous marriage for the first time.

The sixteen-year-old boy knelt in the mourning hall, head bowed, fists clenched, his eyes red-rimmed.

Her husband's marriage to his ex-wife had ended badly.

Those in the know told her that the boy's mother had jumped off a building not long ago, leaving him nothing but fifty million in gambling debts.

A mother who gambled, a father who had died, and a boy about to start middle school with no money for tuition.

As luck would have it, her recently deceased husband had left behind a huge inheritance.

And fortunately, the boy was still under eighteen.

So Lin Jiashan naturally became his guardian.

Note: A very short story, set in a fictional Hong Kong and Taiwan-inspired world.

They are never on the same household registration.

The age gap is twelve years. The male lead is an adult when the romance begins, and the guardianship has ended.

When you click on a story with a setup like "stepmother × stepson (not really)," you should be prepared for some moral complications.
