*Happy ending / both leads are each other's first and only / cozy, adorable sweet romance / mutual healing / urban fairy tale

*An employee who seems full of resentment but is actually cute and resilient x a boss who seems sharp-tongued and cold but is actually gentle and considerate

.

Xu Xiang'er can turn into a beaver, and her cold, ruthless boss, Chen Yi, has discovered her secret.

She is forced to sign an agreement with him before Chen Yi will agree to help keep her beaver secret hidden.

They were supposed to have nothing more than a working relationship,

but one accidental kiss upended their peaceful lives.

Chen Yi cornered her in a private room at a KTV.

He leaned toward her, staring as his eyes darkened. "I'll ask you one more time. Did I do something that day?"

"You kissed me." Xu Xiang'er decided to come clean. "But it's no big deal, Mr. Chen. You had a fever that day."

The next second, she suddenly turned into a beaver again.

Chen Yi laughed helplessly. "Why did that happen this time?"

The beaver blinked her beady eyes and turned away. She really wanted to bang her head against the wall.

The fact that Xu Xiang'er liked Chen Yi

was impossible to hide because of her beaver transformations.

But they shouldn't be together.

They weren't suited for each other in any way.

Beaver Bonus Scene:

One time, Chen Yi brought the poor little beaver back to his home

and showed her the huge pile of branches he'd carefully prepared.

"I didn't know which kind you liked, so I got a little of everything."

Xu Xiang'er plunged right in, eating until wood shavings clung to her soft belly.

Then she heard Chen Yi ask, "Are you full? Once you're done, revise tomorrow's proposal."

"..."

Xu Xiang'er was truly a fool for getting all sentimental.

Reader's Guide:

1. When the heroine experiences intense emotions, she turns into a beaver. This can happen when she's frightened, angry, or falling for someone.

2. This is not a human-beast romance! When the heroine is a beaver, she and the hero interact in a perfectly normal, adorable way.

3. A fantastical urban fairy tale. It doesn't follow strict logic, but the author can explain the reason for the transformation.
