Anonymous Letter [Stealing Someone's Partner]

[British TV Drama Vibe] [Dark and Twisted] [1980s] [Secret Identity] [Marriage Before Love] [Stealing Someone's Partner]

Charlotte Bunbury x Austin Grenville

Setting: Britain

At William Grenville's wedding reception, William placed Charlotte's hand over Austin's.

"My dear Charlotte, I hope you and Austin will find the same happiness I have."

And so his blessing came true.

On a bright, springlike day just like the one on which William had married, Charlotte married Austin.

One morning, she received an anonymous letter.

There was something strange about the letter. After she politely wrote back, it began to haunt her like a ghost.

While her husband Austin was away serving in the army, the letter became a patient friend. It understood how dull she was, and always replied to her quickly.

Little by little, the letter opened her heart completely.

Though they were strangers, they could talk about anything.

But the letter grew more and more strange. It began openly disparaging her husband and trying to lure her away from him.

Having grown up together, Austin had always thought Charlotte was mad.

She was always looking at William and would listen only to him.

But she never dared tell William how she felt.

Just like him.

Charlotte was mad. Austin still thought so as he rested her slender arm in the crook of his elbow.

One blessing was all it took for her to become his wife.

When darkness completely shrouded the room, Austin would always look at the face beside him.

He could not understand why Charlotte had married him.

Was it because she wanted to spend her whole life gazing at that man?

That man, his older brother, William.
