Han Li of the Heavenly Dao Sect began cultivating in childhood and was dazzlingly talented. She fought hundreds of rampaging fiends in the Valley of Sorrow without suffering a scratch, shocking the world.
Yet the immortals' opinions of Venerable Han Li were deeply divided. Alongside the praise, some criticized her as strange and wanton, a woman whose nature was unfit for the immortal path.
Only two things ever held Han Li's heart and soul captive.
The first was love:
Her teacher, Yun Zhongzi, watched over her as she grew up, cared for her devotedly, and taught her the Dao, imparting knowledge and answering her questions.
Her friend, Jing Yang, had been inseparable from her since childhood. They were like twin flowers, journeying side by side through countless rivers and mountains. The world called them:
"The immortal in the mist is elusive; after the snow clears, she gives free rein to her cold wildness.
May I be a brilliant sun, brushing the dust from twin moons."
The second was the Dao:
How could she resist being captivated when the Heavenly Dao laid its rules bare before her?
But her cultivation had been stuck at the peak of Spirit Transformation for hundreds of years, without the slightest progress, while the threat of being consumed by bloodlust drew ever closer.
With a century left before she would burn to death unless she broke through Spirit Transformation, Han Li used a fragment of her spirit to disguise herself as a man and, along the way, met a strong-willed "little girl" with a pure yin constitution. At last, she sensed a chance to break through. The girl's name was Yin Fei.
From Jing Yang's perspective:
I have a friend, peerless in every way.
From Yin Fei's perspective:
On the day they first met, Yin Fei's darkness stretched beyond the horizon. Yet a sun descended from the tides, bearing the long-dreamed-of gift.
He used his pure yin constitution as bait, bowing his head to a deadly enemy and seeking the protection of someone stronger.
His teacher. The one he desired.
He would give his teacher a death steeped in desire.
Yin Fei's mind told him to beware the honeyed trap, but his heart watched itself fall.
Ever since realizing that he was hopelessly gay, every step Yin Fei took led him toward the abyss of drowning.
He forgot everything, obsessed with one person alone. The agony of wanting what he could not have burned him without respite.
The day he was finally consumed, he claimed he had been poisoned by an enemy and drugged himself. He climbed into his teacher's bed, chasing every breath she took, only for her to see through his intentions, take him to a brothel, and order him to find someone to sate his lust.
Han Li looked at the boy begging for her affection and lifted his chin. "Just because you like me, does that mean I have to return your feelings?"
She smiled lazily, her voice teasing and condescending. "A naughty child dating before his time. You're not good enough yet."
A few things to know:
1. Cultivation levels: Qi Refining - Foundation Establishment - Golden Core - Nascent Soul - Spirit Transformation - Body Integration - Mahayana
2. I'm writing the story I have in mind. I haven't read many cultivation novels; I'm just using the cultivation setting.
3. I'm really not good at writing blurbs. Please judge by the actual story. It's probably going to be a long one.
4. There is a romance, but it isn't the heroine's whole life. She raises her disciple at first, and he has a crush on her. The teacher-disciple relationship uses the old tropes of a woman disguised as a man and a man disguised as a woman. The male lead will have a character-growth arc.
5. If you don't like it, just leave. The author is an office worker and a drudge.
6. I'll add more if I think of anything.
Theme: True strength comes from being strong in yourself and in your heart
