In the indistinct darkness, Gin seemed to hear these determined, obsessive words. When he regained consciousness, he was standing in a dark corner of a bustling city. The once-burning cigarette butt by his feet had gone cold. He lowered his eyes to the black leather glove on his palm, bewildered. This wasn't the illusion of a dream. It seemed he had been reborn. In this reborn world, he had never undergone the organization's experiments. There was no Glenfiddich, and no Akiba Yoru. A year later, Gin received a new order from that gentleman: guide a newcomer who had bought his way into the organization. His codename was Glenfiddich. -- Akiba Yoru was a thorn-covered bird who loved drinking, and wanted to steal the bottle along with the liquor. He came from another world, living a life of hardship and drifting without a fate of his own. After spending years wandering through another dimension, he finally held the dream he yearned for in his hands. But he couldn't help feeling nervous now that he was close to home. Fortunately, the liquor he wanted to steal uncorked itself and brought the bird a drink. [An imagined scene, with extra torment] One day, Conan met a gentle young man at an art exhibition. Then, without warning, he discovered his nightmare, Gin, kissing the young man, and the two seemed reluctant to part. The young man even blurted out that he and Gin were married. Conan: !!! Later, Conan discovered that the young man had also joined the organization, and had been given a codename as soon as he joined. When Conan eventually found a chance to ask him about it, the young man said that he and Gin had fallen in love at first sight at an art exhibition, started dating, and then got married. Conan's pupils shook with shock: Are you kidding me? That's Gin! Later still, Conan discovered that the young man had joined the organization simply to find out what happened to his father. He must have been tricked into joining by the organization!!! And Gin must have approached him in the first place for his money! It's so awful that Gin swindled him out of his money, his body, and his heart!!! Conan's fighting spirit blazed anew. He would definitely bring this organization to justice! # Little Conan isn't the only one subjected to this kind of torment. Completed fic: The True Liquor Who Took the Workaholic Away from the Distillery Check out my new upcoming fic, the story of Akiba 3.0, Little Chestnut Looks for His Daddy Chestnut is a red panda spirit adopted by a human (?) daddy. In human form, he has silver hair and clear green eyes like his dad, chubby cheeks, and an adorable cowlick. One day, he accidentally transmigrates, though he doesn't realize it. Feeling wronged, he sets out to find the daddy who's gone missing. A System discovers little Chestnut in the space-time turbulence and is astonished to learn that he's the cub raised by its previous Host. Filled with affection, it promptly changes itself into a Find-Daddy System, planning to bind to Chestnut, choose the world where its former Host lives, and send Chestnut home. But the new System isn't quite as reliable as it thinks it is, and, predictably, it sets the wrong destination when they transmigrate. Help! The System looks sadly at hungry little Chestnut and sighs with weary resignation. Fortunately, it realizes there's a counterpart of its former Host in this world! Scene One: Little Chestnut spots Daddy in the street, his cheeks flushing with excitement as he runs over and shouts, "Papa!" The System also dashes over in tears: "Daddy! Please carry us to victory!" Akiba Yoru: "?" Where did this kid come from? Scene Two: Akiba Yoru brings little Chestnut to the distillery workaholic he once slept with, and says without batting an eye, "I gave birth to this kid. Congratulations, you're a dad!" The distillery workaholic sneers: "You can give birth?" Akiba Yoru: "I'm not human. I was pregnant for one day, and this kid hatched from an egg. You know, nonhumans?" The distillery workaholic laughs helplessly. (There are no nonhumans. Akiba Yoru is just making things up.) The two make a bet based on a paternity test. If Akiba Yoru wins, he gets official recognition; if he loses, he'll let Gin sleep with him in return. Later, Gin stares thoughtfully at the test report confirming the parent-child relationship. Akiba Yoru ponders, then is overcome with joy. Little Chestnut ponders: So I really am Daddy's biological kid? The System quietly takes credit: "I knew the Host's counterpart wouldn't escape Gin's trap either. Here's a little assist, no need to thank me!" Scene Three: Little Chestnut clings to Daddy and warily watches Rye Akai: "Mister, good people shouldn't break up other people's families!" Akai, who once saw the kid call Gin Daddy, thinks for a second and decides to keep testing him: "But I'm a bad guy. I'm here to join your family." Little Chestnut: "!!!" Scene Four: Little Chestnut clenches his fists: Both Daddies have lost their memories. I'll work hard to bring them back together! (A blazing fire erupts in the background.) Little Chestnut: This family would fall apart without me! Little Chestnut sighs, transforms into his red panda form, and nuzzles Daddy all over, begging cutely: "Eee-oo~" (The red panda is not a giant panda cub. It's a red panda wearing a black coat inside out.) The romantic storyline is the Daddies' pairing: Akiba Yoru x Gin. Reading Guide: 1. This is a parallel-world counterpart story to The True Liquor Who Took the Workaholic Away from the Distillery and Liquor and the Thorn-Covered Bird. This is Akiba 3.0. 2. The timeline is made up. Conan is still Conan, but the Whiskey Trio are still undercover and have already received their codenames. 3. Chestnut has no pairing in this story and will always be a child. The romance is between the Daddies. 4. Lighthearted, probably with more torment. Conan's pupils shake with shock, while bystanders point and whisper. 5. More to be added if I think of anything. Theme: Leave the whirlpool of darkness with the one you love, and walk toward the light.
