After going through thick and thin, you finally get your hands on the newly released Journey Through the Dark Multiverse, a free-exploration game with one-hundred-percent realism, masterminded by the hottest name in the industry, Barbatos. The game has been showered with rave reviews. You've been itching to see what surprises it has in store for ages, and now you can finally try it yourself.jpg Welcome, player [Unit-01]. You are now logged in. Game instructions: Dear player, you will draw a character card from the gacha pool and explore the world as the parallel-universe counterpart of a superhero. If you die, your character card will be torn up, so please proceed with caution. Player: Superhero secret identities, hell yeah! ◇◇◇◇ On the riotous night of the Arkham Asylum breakout, the Joker is livestreaming Gotham and hosting the same old Batman-choice game. Then a sniper's AK round from afar blows his head clean off. Blood sprays everywhere, and he is dead as a doornail. Meanwhile, atop a distant skyscraper, a blue cat strides along with an utterly carefree gait, facing off against the dads who have just arrived and kicking off another round of family drama... AK Red Hood: Old Bat, Deathstroke, why don't you two fight? Whoever wins gets to take me home. Damian from Injustice receives another order from Superman: massacre the criminals involved in the riot. While carrying it out, he runs into Reverse Damian, gets beaten to a pulp and taken captive. Even the Kryptonian gets punched so hard he starts questioning his whole life. Reverse Damian: If I didn't kill you, then I can keep beating you until I do. Reverse Damian: Thinking of that guy as a father figure is so stupid it amazes me. A string of criminal deaths has recently rocked Bludhaven. Nightwing follows the trail and finds himself on the Talons' tracks once more. The familiar feeling infuriates the Gray Son. But as he investigates further, he discovers the Court of Owls has been massacred. The next day's papers cause a sensation: Gotham's elite have been slaughtered in droves, the Talons are stirring, and the figure behind it all seems strangely familiar to Bludhaven's vigilante. Talons Dick: That's it? The Court of Owls without Thomas? Robin, who has dug through the wood and scraped his fingers bloody trying to claw his way out of his coffin, suddenly discovers the lid has been broken open. A familiar yet unfamiliar hand reaches down to him... Lonely Tim in a Batsuit: ^ ^ Bruce, remember your former Robin? He's my Robin now. And by the way, your current Robin will be mine soon, too. Game update: Congratulations! You have earned the buff: Batman's Disapproving Gaze x4 Boss battle starting soon. Please prepare. Your enemy, [The Batman Who Laughs], has appeared. The Nightmare Knights Studio wishes you an enjoyable game. Reader's guide: 70% anti-piracy measures. Extra chapters posted irregularly. The image is commissioned art. My secret identities are constantly on the verge of being exposed, I flap my wings wildly to avoid it. The timeline is a mess, and the author has made up enough details to build a mountain. The player is very present and important. After all, the secret identities tend to act like players in a game, with no no-kill rule. The only one not killing anyone right now is Reverse Damian. The characters belong to their original creators; any OOC is my doing. This story is very unfriendly to the Joker. The protagonist has no trouble killing him, so Joker fans, beware. I saw questions about Damian's characterization in the comments, so here's the deal: Damian eats meat. You can't raise a little leopard on a diet of rabbit food. Kids are growing, and night patrols take a lot out of them, both physically and mentally. Eating only vegetables is practically against human biology. That said, Damian won't eat much meat. It's mostly to meet his nutritional needs. Theme: The bonds between people, love, and self-love.
