Jason: At first, all I wanted was to go home. Now I want to take this bunch of nonhuman creatures home with me without getting kicked out by my old bat-dad. #Seriously, they're so clingy. What am I supposed to do? The blurb isn't doing it justice. Please go read the story. Coming soon next door: All the Ghost Stories Are My Family [Crossover Horror] Curtis had never had a family. Not before. Not ever. Curtis had never known warmth. She died in the cold of winter, then was lucky enough to arrive in a new world. When she opened her eyes, a terrifying, skeletal woman was floating in front of her. Beside her lay a man who had shot himself. Curtis tilted her head and cautiously asked, "Mom?" The woman's sharp fingers paused. Then she tossed Curtis a date. Curtis grasped the woman's skeletal hand and stubbornly called out, "Mom." Mom looked terrifying, but Curtis loved her very much. But her happiness came to an abrupt end. Two people claiming to be exorcists drove her mother away, and she was sent to a new family. There was something wrong with her new family. A beautiful but vicious older sister, an adorable but eerie younger brother, and what seemed to be a twisted pet hidden somewhere in the house. Confronted with this strange, twisted new family, Curtis smiled with satisfaction. Wonderful. A family. She needed a family. She deserved a whole, happy home. So. She broke her sister's hand, making her gentler. She killed her brother's dog, making him obedient. She cut the pet's hair short, making her docile and affectionate. Finally, she found her mother again and, right in front of her, threw away the remains of her real child, making her a mother who belonged to Curtis alone. Curtis loved her new family. She thought she was the happiest child in the world. At first, when the twisted monsters were forced to become family, they acted obedient whenever Curtis was awake and desperately tried to kill her while she slept. But later... The taciturn vine monster would tear out its own heart and hang it by her bed; The pale-faced clown would give her a whole room full of red balloons as a surprise; Even the mermaid in the sewer would drag her rotting body up to the surface, just to give Curtis the most beautiful scales on her body. In the end, they fought like stray dogs for the scant, twisted, strange love Curtis had to give. #Warnings for this story: Still being updated 1. Characters may be out of character. There will be many original headcanons, and you will see the OOC behavior they cause. 2. The writing is amateurish, and the pacing is fast. 3. There is no set timeline. 4. The protagonist is a bleeding heart when it comes to her own people and wants to save others. 5. Later on, the story will switch back and forth between two worlds. If you only want to read the horror-world parts, feel free to skip around. 6. There is one non-canon side pairing, the rich-guy pairing. (Ahem. It won't get much focus, mostly implied. It's the author's personal indulgence.) Please read the warnings before you start! If you can't accept them, please stop reading in time! If you drop the story, don't leave a review. The author is a bit sensitive. Theme: Going home is the best gift
